  Description

  Situated on a slight rise in undulating countryside with good views in all directions with three nearby ringforts (OF008-031/032/035) to the N. Barely discernible outline of a univallate ringfort (38m N-S; 37m E-W) which had an enclosing bank and external fosse which according to local information was levelled in 1989. • OF016-002 Ritual site - holy well
  Description

  Attempts have been made to refill the well with earth. Disused circular shaped well (diam 0.6m) covered with a piece of timber and lined with metal. The well has no water in it and measures 1.5m deep. A local farmer informed us that a small mound approx. 7.5m high was located to the N of the well, but it had been levelled several years ago. On the OS 6-inch map there is another Holy Well (OF016-003----) immediately to the E.   Description

  Not visible at ground level. No local knowledge of a holy well in the area, marked on all editions of the OS 6-inch map with second holy well immediately to the W (OF016-002----). • Saint Patrick's Catholic Church, church/chapel, 1820–1860 · Regional interest
  Description

  Detached gable-fronted church, built c.1840, with three-bay side elevation to nave and extension to rear. Pitched tiled roof with sprocketed eaves, rendered chimneystack to extension, carved limestone cross finial to gable and some cast-iron rainwater goods. Smooth rendered plinth with pebbledashed walls. Pointed-arched window openings with rendered reveals, timber Y-tracery windows and tooled stone sills to nave. Pointed-arched opening with timber traceried window, dressed stone surround, limestone sill and hoodmoulding to east gable. Pointed-arched door opening with dressed stone surround, hoodmoulding, replacement timber battened door and timber spoked fanlight. Timber pews to nave with balcony. Marble furniture to altar.
