• MO018-047 Standing stone
  Description

  Located towards the E end of an E-W drumlin ridge. The standing stone is marked only on the 1907 edition of the OS 6-inch map. The stone (L 2.55m Wth 0.3-0.8m; T 0.55m at wide base; T 1m at centre; T 0.2-0.25m at top) is now prostrate and tapers to a rough point at one end. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). Architectural heritage

• Old Windmill, mill (wind), 1740–1780 · Regional interest
  Description

  Freestanding three-stage cylindrical windmill, built c.1760, in ruins c.1840. Roof now missing. Random rubble stone walls retaining fragments of roughcast surface finish. Square-headed narrow window openings above each doorway at first floor level, rough-hewn stone voussoirs and lintels removed. Square-headed opposing door openings with stone relieving arches over, dressings removed. Interior now floorless, but in-stepping of wall shows former position. Set within raised circular platform on top of hill to north of village of Rockcorry.

• Bridge, 1760–1800 · Regional interest
  Description

  Double-arch limestone road bridge, built c.1780, over Rockcorry River. Random rubble stone walling and parapets, latter with rock-faced copings with margins, and with concrete cutwater to north elevation. Slender stone voussoirs to arches to north elevation, and roughly dressed stone voussoirs to south elevation.
