Description
Freestanding gable-fronted single-bay double-height Gothic Revival Roman Catholic church, built c. 1865, with single-bay four-stage tower and spire to left, single-bay single-storey chapel and sacristy to left and eight-bay side elevations. Six-bay single-storey flat-roofed side aisle added, c. 1900. Remodelled and polygonal former apse altered, c. 1940, to accommodate use as entrance porch. Pitched slate roofs with vents to main ridge, cut-stone copings and corbels and cast-iron downpipes. Pyramidal copper sheeting to spire. Snecked stone walls with cut-stone dressings and buttresses to side aisle. Pointed arch openings with leaded coloured and stained glass windows, having cut-stone Y-tracery to aisle. Pointed arch opening to tower with timber matchboard door, coloured glass fanlight and having carved hood moulding above. Cut-stone doorcase to remodelled entrance. Retaining interior features including exposed roof beams, stone corbels, cast-iron spiral staircase to porch, fluted chancel arch, marble altar and altar railings with brass gates. Cut-stone gate piers with chamfered corners and cast-iron gates to site. Parochial house to site.

Description
End-of-terrace five-bay two-storey house, built c. 1850, with round-headed door opening to centre. Renovated, c. 1900, with shopfront inserted to right hand side ground floor and façade enrichments added including hood mouldings over openings. Now disused. Pitched artificial slate roof with rendered chimneystacks. Ruled-and-lined rendered walls to first floor and channelled rendered walls to ground floor with render quoins and string course between floors. Render pilasters and continuous hood mouldings to ground floor. Render letters added over shopfront entrance door. Render hood mouldings with decorative stops to first floor round-headed openings. Round- and segmental-arched openings with timber doors and fanlights. Segmental-arched window opening to shopfront, now boarded. Timber sliding sash windows with stone sills.

Terraced eight-bay two-storey hotel, built c. 1860, with former integral carriage arch, three-bay single-storey return and originally having polygonal bowed section to rear. Renovated and extended to rear, c. 1995, with four-bay two-storey return. Hipped slate and artificial slate roofs with replacement rainwater goods. Exposed rubble stone walls to front elevation, rendered walls to rear. Cut-stone voussoirs to former carriage arch opening. Replacement uPVC windows and timber replacement doors. Retaining interior features.
