On a ridge surrounded by gorse and scrub in gently undulating grassland. A subcircular rath (N-S 30.5m, E-W 28.5m) defined by a bank from NW through N to NNE; a low scarp defines the monument elsewhere. Possible stone revetment survives internally at NW and SW. Within WNW sector of interior are two small mounds. A gap at NE may be original. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Description
On a ridge in undulating grassland immediately E of a stream. Poorly preserved circular rath (D 36.2m) defined by a bank, now breached in numerous places. - GA042-167002 Souterrain
Description
In NW quadrant of a ringfort (GA042-167001-). Drystone-built chamber (L >4.4m) running NE-SW. Access is gained via modern breaches at both ends. A hollow (L >6m), with traces of drystone-walling, extends from SW end and cuts right through the bank of the rath: probably a robbed-out section. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). Date of upload: 05 August 2010

Description
Some 7m E of a ringfort (GA042-167001-) A tall thin slab of limestone conglomerate (H 2.05m), rectangular in plan, its long axis running N-S. It appears to be held in position by basal-packing stones, though field-clearance rubble has also been dumped against its base. (Killanin and Duignan 1967, 304-5) The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). Date of upload: 05 August 2010
- GA042-167004 Children's burial ground
Description
Some 30m S of a ringfort (GA042-167001-), in a small hollow close to the td. boundary. An unenclosed linear area (NNW-SSE; L 14.6m, Wth 6.9m) containing numerous small set stones, perhaps indicating graves orientated E-W. A large uninscribed stone pillar (H 1m) stands at E edge of the area, flanked of either side by short stretches of a low drystone wall. Possibly a CBG. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). Date of upload: 05 August 2010
- GA042-168 Ringfort - rath
Description
On a rise in undulating grassland. Poorly preserved circular rath (D 34.9m) defined by an inner bank, external berm, intervening fosse and outer bank. Traces of stone revetment survive on the inner bank. A field wall cuts the monument at ENE and WSW, to SE of which only a cropmark survives. A possible souterrain (GA042-170----) lies 180m to NW and a house (GA042-171----) 100m to SSW. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). Date of upload: 05 August 2010
- GA042-170 Souterrain
Description
On a WNW-facing slope in undulating pastureland. The site of a probable souterrain (information from Prof. Rynne) but no visible surface trace survives. A ringfort (GA042-168----) lies 180m to SE. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). Date of upload: 05 August 2010
- GA042-171 House - indeterminate date
Description
Just off the summit of a small hillock in undulating grassland, some 100m SSW of a ringfort (GA042-168----). A small subcircular enclosure (N-S 7m), in fair condition, defined by a bank of earth and stone (H 0.2-0.45m int.) A gap at N appears modern. Probably a house, but the possibility of it being a barrow cannot be totally ruled out. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). Date of upload: 05 August 2010
