- GA097-079 Quarry
Description
A hachured feature marked on the 1933 edition of the OS 6-inch map proved on inspection in 1984 to be a large, disused gravel pit. As it is of post-AD 1700 date it does not come within the remit of the Archaeological Survey of Ireland. Compiled by: Olive Alcock Date of upload: 8 August 2014
- GA097-080 Ringfort - rath
Description
In undulating pastureland. An almost circular rath (29.5m N-S; 28.5m E-W), in fair condition, defined by a bank best preserved at W. The line of an external fosse is indicated by a band of nettles and thistles. A stone-lined gap (Wth 3m) at NE appears to be original. Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 27 November 2017
- GA097-081 Ringfort - rath
Description
On a W-facing slope in rolling pastureland. This very poorly preserved enclosure (42.3m E-W; 28m N-S), roughly oval in plan, is defined by a slightly raised platform. The general topography of the area and its designation on the OS 6-inch maps suggests that it was probably a rath. Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 21 February 2019
