• TN015-001 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  Situated on a slight E-facing slope in undulating pastureland. A circular area (diam. 48.6m N-S; 45.6m E-W) enclosed by a high bank (Wth 4.6m; int. H 1.3m; ext. H 1.2) which falls steeply to an outer fosse (Wth 6m; D 0.6m). There is an entrance in the SE quadrant (Wth 4.3m) with boulders at the base of the bank. In the N and SW sectors the bank has been truncated externally and earth and boulders have been dumped in the fosse at N. • TN015-007 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  Situated on a slightly raised area on a NE-facing slope in tillage, c. 30m N of a levelled possible ringfort (TN015-008). The site is not indicated on the OS 6-inch maps but appears as a circular cropmark on an aerial photograph (CUCAP, BDL 64). There is no visible trace of the site at ground level, however its location, size, shape and proximity to another possible ringfort suggest possible ringfort classification. • TN015-008 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  Situated on ground sloping to the NE in lush meadow. Depicted on the 1st and latest ed. OS 6-inch maps as roughly circular in shape with a field boundary abutting the bank in at W and E, being incorporated in N half of site. An aerial photograph (CUCAP, BDL 64) shows the S half of the site levelled. The interior is very uneven, with a large hollow at N and the NW sector is heavily overgrown with scrub; no bank evident. • TN015-107 Fulacht fia
  Description

  Situated in field sloping very gently to SE. Area may have been reclaimed, no water source evident. Three fulachta fiadh were identified by John Feehan Environmental Survey, Damer House, 1987. An electricity pylon is situated in roughly the same area as that of fulachta fiadh. No sites were evident above ground despite very low grass in field.
