  a 10-year permission and 35 year operation for a solar farm on four land parcels as described herein; North Parcel(Gortnakistin townland) approximately 23.78 hectares, Central Parcel(Ballyvalode & Keeloges townlands) approximately 43.49 hectares, South Central Parcel(Gortyvahane and Moanroe townlands) approximately 34.7 hectares, South Parcel(Garryduff, Moanroe, Moanoola and Kilmacogue townland) approximately 39.27 hectares. The Central Parcel, South Central Parcel and South Parcel are collectively referred to as the Main Solar Farm; a route corridor of 0.58 hectares for an underground internal network cable along the R507 and L5040 public roads for approximately 600 metres and within the solar farm lands for approximately 1,260 metres. The total site area for the proposed development is approximately 141.8 hectares. The proposed development on these parcels comprises of 755,000sqm of solar photovoltaic panels on ground mounted steel frames; inverter/transformer stations; underground power and communication cables and ducts; boundary security fencing; new internal access tracks; associated drainage infrastructure; site entrances to the R507 public road(site entrance to main solar farm) and the L5040 public local road(North Parcel); CCTV cameras and all associated site services and works. Works for the internal network cable comprise trenching for an underground medium voltage electrical cable and associated joint bays and infrastructure, for a distance of approximately 560 metres on the R507 Regional Road, approximately 100 metres on the L5040 Local Road and approximately 1,260m within the solar farm lands. As part of a separate Strategic Infrastructure Development(SID) planning application provision of a 110kV electrical substation with electrical control building, associated compound with palisade fence and 2no. overhead line masts, which is to be located within the main solar farm, will be lodged with An Bord Pleanála in due course. A Natura Impact Statement (NIS) will be submitted to the Planning Authority with the application

  Description

  On a gently undulating S-facing slope, in young forestry, with moderate views in all directions, 22m E of a townland boundary with Ballyvalode. Enclosures (LI024-012/014----) lie 105m to NW and 160m to NE, respectively. Depicted on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map as a penannular-shaped earthwork which is open to E. Monument surveyed by the ASI in 1999 and described as a raised circular-shaped area (20m E-W; 18m N-S) enclosed by an earthen bank (Wth 4.1m; int. H 0.25m; ext. H 0.55m) from S-W-NW, reduced to a scarp (Wth 1.1m; H 0.1m) from NW-N-E-S with an external fosse (overall Wth 5.9m; basal Wth 1.2m; D 0.3m). The interior is level, dry and clear of overgrowth. There is no obvious entrance feature.   Description

  On a gentle S-facing slope, in young forestry, with moderate to good views in all directions and 122m E of a townland boundary with Ballyvalode. Enclosures (LI024-012/013----) lie 130m to W and 160m to SW, respectively. Depicted on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map as a rectilinear-shaped earthwork which is truncated by a field boundary running E-W, to N. Monument surveyed by the ASI in 1999 and described as a raised subcircular-shaped area (17m E-W; 16m N-S) defined by a scarp (Wth 1.3m; H 0.45m) from NE-E-S-W-NW with external fosse (overall Wth 3.5m; basal Wth 1.2m; D 0.3m) from NE-E-S-W-NW, which is very faint from SE-S-SSW. There is no obvious entrance feature, although there is a cattle breach (Wth 0.7m) in the scarp at S. The interior is level, dry and clear of overgrowth. It has been quarried across the N-sector leaving a linear depression running E-W from which the material appears to have been cast up to N, forming a field boundary parallel to the depression.   On a low rise (240ft/73m), planted with young forestry, with moderate to good views in all directions and 268m E of a townland boundary with Ballyvalode. Enclosures (LI024-014/013----) lie 135m to NW and 240m to WSW, respectively. Depicted on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map as a suboval-shaped earthwork. Monument surveyed by the ASI in 1999 and described as a raised circular-shaped area (26m N-S; 25m E-W) defined by a scarp (Wth 3.5m; H 0.6m). There is a possible entrance via a ramp (Wth 3.5m) across the scarp at SSW. The interior is level, dry and obscured by overgrowth around the perimeter and across the N quadrant. Monument surveyed by the ASI in 1999 and described as a being under thick grass cover and impossible to determine its precise form and extent. Known of locally as an enclosure.   In level pasture, with moderate views in all directions, 50m W of a townland boundary with Oolahills East. Depicted on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map as a circular-shaped earthwork. Monument surveyed by the ASI in 1999 and described as a raised subcircular-shaped area (approx. diam. 25m) defined by a scarp (Wth 1.1m; H 0.4m) all around which is very eroded by livestock. The interior is level, dry and densely overgrown with vegetation and is only accessible from NE-E-S. Monument is visible as a faint, roughly circular-shaped scrub covered cropmark on OSi orthophotos taken 2005-2012 and on Digital Globe orthophotos taken 2011-2013, although is not visible on Google Earth orthoimage taken 18/11/2018. • LI025-032 Barrow - ring-barrow
  Description

  In gently undulating pasture, with moderate views in all directions. The townland boundary with Oolahills East is 260m to S and enclosure (LI025-015----) lies 350m to NNW. A series of newly discovered ring-barrows lie to the S, SW and W of the site within a radius of between 15-110m. The site is not depicted on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map and is not depicted on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map. The ring-barrow is visible as a small ring-barrow surrounded by a larger semi-circular enclosure on the OSi orthoimage taken 2005-12 and on the Digital Globe orthoimages taken 2011-2013. Inspected by ASI in 1999 when the ring-barrow was described as a circular raised area (int. diam. 5.2m) defined by a scarped edge with a shallow external fosse (Wth 1.7m; int. H 0.1m; ext. H 0.1m). The interior of the ring-barrow is level, dry. The fosse is less obvious on the W side where it has been recently infilled. No entrance present. The W side of the outer enclosure (ext. dims. 32m N-S; 21m E-W) has been removed as a surface feature by a modern field boundary. At the time of the field inspection by ASI the local farmer (pers. comm.) said that other sites were visible in the vicinity of the ring-barrow at different times of the year under different growth and climatic conditions.
