  Situated just below the summit of a hill on an E-facing slope in an upland area with extensive views and a nearby church (TN029-079) to the SW. Depicted on the 1st ed. OS 6-inch map as a circular enclosure intersected at S by a road on an E-W axis. Not visible at ground level (Stout 1984, 35). • TN029-079001 Church
  Description

  Situated on an E-facing slope just below the summit of a hill with an enclosure site (TN029-078) to the NE. The Royal Visitation of 1615 described the building as a 'church and chancell downe' (Murphy 1914, 222). A poorly preserved rectangular church (ext. dims. 9.15m N-S; 16.2m E-W; wall T 1m) consisting of the lower wall foundations surviving to a height of 0.73m. At the W end of the N wall there is the lower W jamb of a chamfered rebated limestone doorway. No other architectural features visible. The church is situated in the W end of a modern graveyard (TN029-079002) (Stout 1984, 100). The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary.   Description

  Situated on a low rise of ground in undulating pasture. A subcircular area (diam. 32m E-W) enclosed by an earth and stone bank (Wth 3m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 0.6m) with possible entrance gap (Wth 1m) at N. No visible trace of a fosse. The E sector of the interior has been quarried out (Stout 1984, 35).
