Description
On a NW-facing slope in pasture. A raised subrectangular area (c. 41m E-W; c. 38m N-S) defined by a scarp (H 1.4m) from E-S-ENE and by a low bank of earth and stone (H 0.3-0.4m) from ENE-E, and a wide shallow fosse (Wth 2.6-5.6m; D 0.5m). A report in 1976 (SMR file) recorded an outer bank; it has been modified and incorporated into a field boundary at W. Elsewhere it has been levelled. A wide break (Wth 6m) in the bank at ENE may mark the original entrance. There is a possible house site (LF019-038002-) within the interior at E. Compiled by: Patrick F. Description
On a gentle N-facing slope in reclaimed pasture. A report in 1976 (SMR file) recorded a raised subcircular area (c. 22m N-S; c. 19m E-W) enclosed by a low bank of earth and stone with a shallow external fosse. Description
On a gentle NNE-facing slope in pasture. Depicted as a circular enclosure with the designation 'Fort' on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. The monument and a number of field boundaries in its vicinity were levelled in the 1940s (local information). However, a report in 1976 (SMR file) recorded that the outline of a bank with an external fosse could still be traced enclosing a circular area (diam. c. 30m). Not visible at ground level. - LF019-043 Ringfort - rath
Description
On a low ridge in pasture. A report in 1976 (SMR file) indicates that this raised circular area (diam. c. 45m) was enclosed by a low bank of earth and stone, a wide deep intervening fosse and an outer bank. Both banks have been levelled. The rath is defined by a broad scarp (H 0.6-1.4m) The fosse has been infilled but its outline may been traced at SSW (Wth 2m; D 0.2m).
