  At the crest of a N-facing slope overlooking a W-E stream c. 100m to the N. Subcircular grass-covered area (dims 38.1m N-S; 33.7m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 3.6-4.7m; int. H 0.2-0.5m; ext. H 0.9-1.4m) with a rounded fosse (Wth of top 5-6.2m; Wth of base 1.2-1.7m; D 0.2-0.25m). There is no identifiable original entrance. Enclosure (RO028-191002-) is c. 40m to the ESE. • RO028-189001 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  Visible on aerial photograph (OSAP: 3/0144), and situated at the crest of a NE-facing slope. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 50m E-W; 48m N-S) defined by an earth and stone bank (Wth 2.25-3m; H 0.2-0.3m). There is no visible fosse or identifiable original entrance, but attached to the perimeter at N is a rectangular enclosure or annexe (RO028-189002-) (int. dims 21m WNW-ESE; 14m NNE-SSW) defined by a stone spread (Wth 2m; H 0.2m). The perimeter SSE-SW forms the N side of roadway (RO028-189003-), and cashel (RO028-190001-) is c. 20m to the SE. Archaeological testing (12E0399) c. 20m SW of the road and c. 30m SW of this rath at the nearest point produced no related material (Crumlish 2012). See excavations.ie (2012:506).   Description

  Visible on aerial photograph (OSAP: 3/0144), and situated on a N-facing slope. A roadway (Wth 7m) defined by earth and stone banks (Wth 1.7-2m; H 0.25-0.4m) is aligned NW-SE (L c. 370m) and has the rath (RO028-189001-) and cashel (RO028-190001-) on the N side at its SE end. It continued into Grange townland at its NW end (L c. 150m plus) but it does not survive here. Archaeological testing (12E0399) c. 20m SW of the road and c. 30m SW of the rath (RO028189001-) at the nearest point produced no related material (Crumlish 2012). See excavations.ie (2012:506).   Visible on aerial photograph (OSAP: 3/0144), and situated at the crest of a NE-facing slope and at the SE end of roadway (RO028-189003-). Subcircular grass-covered area (int. diam. 51m N-S; 48m E-W) defined by a grass-covered stone spread (Wth 2.6m; H 0.2m-0.55m). There is no visible entrance, but a house site (RO028-190002-) (int. dims. 8.8m E-W; 4.5m N-S) defined by a grass-covered stone spread (Wth 1.75m; H 0.3-0.5m) is at the centre, with a second possible house site (RO028-190003-) (int. dims. 18m ENE-WSW; 6m NNW-SSE) just to its E. The perimeter SE-SW forms the N side of a roadway (RO028-189003-), and rath (RO028-189001-) is c. 20m to the NW. See the attached aerial view taken from the S. An area of about 50 acres (c. 20 ha) contains large rectangular fields (dims c. 200m x c. 300m) aligned NNE-SSW and defined by earthen banks (Wth c. 2m; H c. 0.2-0.5m). The fields are contemporary with a roadway (RO028-189003-) (Wth 7m) defined by earth and stone banks (Wth 1.7-2m; H 0.25-0.4m) aligned NW-SE (L c. 400m) which has the rath (RO028-189001-) and cashel (RO028-190001-) on its N side at its SE end.   Visible on aerial photograph (OS 3/0144), and situated on a N-facing slope. Rectangular grass-covered area (dims 25.4m WNW-ESE; 22m NNE-SSW) defined by an earth and stone bank (Wth 2-3m; H 0.35m) at W and N, and field banks (Wth 4m; H 0.25m) of field system (RO028-191001-) at S and E. There is no identifiable original entrance, but there are two clearance cairns (dims c. 2-4m; H 0.3-0.4m) in the interior. Rath (RO028-188----) is c. 40m to the WNW. • RO028-194001 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  On a rise of a fairly level karst landscape c. 50m from the S bank of a W-E stream, and part of field system (RO028-194006-). D-shaped grass-covered area (dims 29.7m NNE-SSW; 24.7m WNW-ESE) defined by a stone-faced earthen bank (Wth 1-1.2m; int. H 0.1-0.3m; ext. H 0.4-0.6m). It is truncated by a NNE-SSW field wall at W and W of this feature a rectangular quarry (dims 10m E-W; 9m N-S; D 0.7-1.3m) with the spoil mound around it on each side has removed or obscured the enclosure. There is no visible fosse, and there is an entrance (Wth 1.8m) at NE. From the perimeter at E two walls (Wth 0.8m) curve NE to a house site (RO028-194004-) and a second house-site (RO028-194002-) abuts the perimeter of the rath and one of the curving walls at ESE.   Description

  On fairly a fairly level karst landscape on the S bank of a W-E stream. An area of about 25 acres (c. 10 ha) contains numerous shallow quarries (dims c. 10m x c. 10m; D 0.2-0.5m) and the remnants of a field system defined by earth and stone banks (Wth c. 2-3m; H 0.2-0.5m). The rath (RO028-194001-) is within the area but probably pre-dates the field walls. The fields are large and curvilinear (dims c. 70m x c. 50m), but towards the E end there is a complex of smaller rectangular fields (dims c. 20m x c. 10m).
