Description
On a gentle E-facing slope of a broad hill. Circular overgrown area (diam. 38m N-S), which remains unplanted in a coniferous forest, defined by an earthen bank (Wth 3.3m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 0.9-1.1m) and an outer fosse (Wth of top 3.3m; Wth of base 1.8m; D 0.5-0.6m). There is no visible entrance. Rath (RO017-114----) is c. 150m to the W. On the gentle SW-facing slope of a low hill. Subcircular overgrown area (dims 31m E-W; 26m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (at E: Wth 3.2m; int. H 0.8m; ext. H 0.9m) NE-S-WSW, which is incorporated into a field bank and townland boundary (Wth 1.4m; int. H 1.1m; ext. H 1.3m) with Scrabbagh elsewhere. There is no visible fosse or entrance. Description
At the bottom of a S-facing slope of a drumlin and on the N shore of an isolated bay (dims c. 700m NW-SE; c. 250-450m NE-SW) of Grange Lough that is now separated from the main lake to the E. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 30m E-W; 28m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 4m; int. H 0.6-0.7m; ext. H 1.1-1.2m) and hedge NW-E-SE, which is reduced to a scarp and hedge (at W: H 1.2m) elsewhere, and an outer fosse (Wth of top 4.6m at N to 6.45m at S; Wth of base 2.6m at E to 2.9m at N; D 0.8-0.9m), which is re-cut as a field drain SE-W-NW. On a gentle E-facing slope, c. 150m from the N end of Grange Lough, which lies to the E. Described as a circular area (diam. c. 34m N-S) defined by an earthen bank and slight traces of a fosse (Gannon 1972). It is not now visible at ground level in pasture.
