  Description

  On a slight SE-facing slope at the head of a small NW-SE valley. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 44.2m N-S; 41.8m E-W) defined by an earth and stone bank (Wth 4.8-5.8m; int. H 0.5-1.1m; ext. H 1.3-1.8m) separated by a rounded fosse (Wth of top 10-11.2m; Wth of base 3.9-5.6m; D 0.65-1.2m) from an outer earth and stone bank (Wth 3.2-4.2m; H 0.3-0.45m) which only survive E-S-NW. There is no identifiable original entrance (max. ext. diam. 66m E-W), but the fosse has been cut and the outer bank removed by a NW-SE drain and field bank at N. • RO034-066001 Barrow - ring-barrow
  Description

  Just off the crest of the N-facing slope of a rise that forms the SE summit of a broad NW-SE ridge. Circular grass-covered platform (diam. 19.3m N-S; H 0.2-0.3m) defined by a flat-bottomed fosse (at N: Wth of top 10.8m; Wth of base 4.8m; at S: Wth of top 15.6m; Wth of base 9.3m) and an outer flat-topped and grass-covered earthen bank (Wth of base 3.5-5.5m; Wth of top 1.2m; int. H 1-1.2m; ext. H 0.35m at N to 0.95m at S). There is an entrance (Wth 3.5m) in the bank at NE (max. ext. diam. 49.6m N-S). Ring-barrow (RO034-066002-) is c. 25m to the WSW and enclosure (RO034-067001-) is c. 75m to the ESE. (Knox 1918a, 161) See the attached aerial view taken from the SSE. • RO034-066002 Barrow - ring-barrow
  Description

  At the crest of the N-facing slope of a rise that forms the SE summit of a broad NW-SE ridge. Described as a rectangular platform (dims of top c. 9m NE-SW; c. 6m NW-SE; H c. 1.5m) separated by a fosse from an outer bank which only survived at NW (Knox 1918a, 161, Pl. VIII, E). It is now a D-shaped, flat-topped and grass-covered mound which has been damaged at W (dims of base 9.5m NNE-SSW; 8m WNW-ESE; dims of top 6.3m NNE-SSW; 4.6m WNW-ESE; H 0.8-1m). There is no evidence of a fosse or outer bank but a WNW-ESE field bank is immediately to the N. Ring-barrow (RO034-066001-) is c. 25m to the ENE. • RO034-067001 Enclosure - large enclosure
  Description

  Marked as a large enclosure (diam. c. 135m) on the 1837 edition of the OS 6-inch map, and visible as a large subcircular enclosure on aerial photographs (CUCAP: AVH 69-70) where it is overlain by a NW-SE field bank, now removed. It is situated on a gentle SE-facing slope at the SE end of a broad NW-SE ridge. This is a subcircular grass-covered area (dims 108m NW-SE; c. 90m NE-SW) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 2.2m; H 0.3-0.4m) NW-NE, a scarp (H 0.2-0.3m) NE-S and an earthen bank (Wth 3.3m; int. H 0.2m; ext. H 0.9m) S-SW. At the centre are traces of a rectangular enclosure (RO034-067002-) (dims c. 35m NE-SW; c. 30m NE-SW) defined by a slight scarp (H 0.2m). This is connected to the perimeter of the enclosure at N by an earthen bank (Wth 2.2m; H 0.4m). The barrows (RO034-0660001-; RO034-066002-) are on higher ground c. 75m and c. 130m to the W and the raths (RO034-068----; RO-034-069----) are c. 30m and c. 50m to the SE.   Description

  Situated on a gentle SE-facing slope at the SE end of a broad NW-SE ridge. At the centre of the large enclosure (RO034-067001-) are traces of a rectangular enclosure (dims c. 35m NE-SW; c. 30m NE-SW) defined by a slight scarp (H 0.2m). This is connected to the perimeter of the large enclosure at N by an earthen bank (Wth 2.2m; H 0.4m), all of which are probably the remnants of a field system preserved within the large enclosure.   On a gentle E-facing slope at the SE end of a broad NW-SE ridge. Described (Knox 1918a, 160-1; Gannon 1972) as a sub-triangular area with an earthen bank and outer fosse (CUCAP: AVH 69-70). This is a grass-covered circular platform (diam. 27.5m E-W; 25.8m N-S) defined by a low scarp (H 0.15-0.25m). This is a D-shaped grass-covered area (dims 29m E-W; 25m N-S) defined by a low scarp (H 0.2-0.3m) with a pond at its S side.
