Description
On a slight SW-facing slope at the SW end of a slight NE-SW drumlin with Kilglass Lough c. 400m to the E and Grange Lough c. 200m to the W. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 58m N-S; 57.4m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 2.6-3.7m; int. H 0.5-1.3m; ext. H 1-1.6m) and hedge wtih an outer fosse (Wth of top 2.6-4.4m; Wth of base 1.3-2.2m; D 0.2-0.6m). There is a modernised entrance (Wth 2.7m) at SSW. Description
On a slight S-facing slope down to the NW shore of Kilglass Lough, which is c. 100m distant. Circular grass and scrub-covered area (diam. 49.2m N-S; 48m E-W) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth 2.9-4.9m; int. H 0.6m S-W to 1.5m N-E; ext. H 0.7m at N to 1-1.2m generally) and outer fosse (Wth of top 3.3-5.7m; Wth of base 0.8-2.8m; D 0.3-0.5m), which has been filled in NW-NE. There is no identifiable original entrance. Description
Just off the crest of a gentle SE-facing slope overlooking Lough Kilglass, which is c. 150m to the SE. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 32.3m N-S; 31.8m E-W) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth 2.5-3m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 0.7m) with traces of external facing-stones at N, which has been reduced to a scarp (H 1.1-2m) NE-SSW, and an outer fosse (Wth of top 2.5-3.5m; Wth of base 1.5-2m; D 0.2-0.5m). There is no identifiable original entrance. Rath (RO023-039----) is c. 170m to the WNW and rath (RO023-040----) is c. 140m to the SW. Description
On a gentle NE-facing slope at the NE end of a low NE-SW drumlin ridge between Grange Lough c. 450m to the NW, and Kilglass Lough, c. 200-250m to the SE. Circular grass and rush-covered area (diam. 46.3m NE-SW; 45.7m NW-SE) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth 3.8-4.6m; int. H 0.3-0.5m; ext. H 1-1.7m) and outer fosse (Wth of top 3.2m at SE to 5-6.6m generally; Wth of base 2m at SE to 3.5-4m generally; D 0.3m at SE to 0.8m generally). There is no identifiable original entrance. Description
On a slight SE-facing slope of a drumlin down to the NW shore of Kilglass Lough, c. 150m distant. Subcircular grass-covered area (dims 64.3m E-W; 56m N-S) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth 4-6.8m; int. H 0.4-0.8m generally to 1.4m at N; ext. H 0.8-1m generally to 1.8m at S) and an outer fosse (Wth of top 4.6-5.6m; Wth of base 2-3m; D 0.4-1m) which has been extended into a pond at N. There is no identifiable original entrance.
