- RO022-087 Ringfort - rath
Description
On a low plateau in a low-lying landscape. Circular grass-covered platform (diam. 35m E-W; 32.7mN-S) with some mature deciduous trees defined by a rounded fosse (Wth of top 4-6m; Wth of base 1.4-1.7m; int. D 0.5m at E to 2.2m at S; ext. D 0.2-0.6m). The outer edge of the fosse is quarried at N, and there are rectangular fields (dims c. 60m x c. 40m) defined by low scarps or banks to the E associated with the N-S drive to Foxborough House, which is c. 190m to the SSE. Description
On the summit of an E-W drumlin ridge. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 49.2m E-W; 46m N-S) defined by an earthen bank and hedge (Wth 3.7-5.3m; int. H 0.2-0.6m; ext. H 0.6m at S to 1.2-1.6m generally), with a fosse (Wth of top 7.3m; Wth of base 2.6m; D 0.4-0.6m) NNW-ENE which has been extended into a pond (dims c 14m E-W; c. 10m N-S; D 1.2m) ENE-SE. There are slight traces of an outer bank (Wth 3m; ext. H 0.4m) N-NNE, and there is an entrance (Wth 1.2m) at WSW. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010

Description
Visible as a small island (diam. c. 10m) on aerial photograph (OS 4/2026), and situated at the N corner of the subrectangular Lough Rogers (dims. c. 270m NW-SE; c. 180m NE-SW).
