Description

Description
Located on a gentle S-facing slope, and on level ground at the bottom of the slope. A roadway (L c. 300m) aligned NNW-SSE is indicated as a feature on the 1929 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and is visible on aerial photographs (ACAP: V206/ 45, 58). Description
On a gentle S-facing slope and on the flat ground at the bottom of the slope. An area of c. 25 ha contained field banks visible on aerial photographs (ACAP: V206/45, 58), although no pattern can be discerned. Some long interrupted sections of field banks running generally E-W and placed c. 200m apart can distinguished, and a roadway (RO022-012001-) (L c. 300m) aligned NNW-SSE. - RO022-021 Ringfort - rath
Description
Marked only on the 1927 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated on a gentle E-facing slope at the E end of a slight E-W ridge. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 27m E-W; 26m N-S) defined by a flat-topped earthen bank (Wth of base 3m; Wth of top 1.4m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 0.8m) with traces of an outer fosse (Wth of top 3m; D 0.1m) E-S-W, but it is bisected by an E-W field bank and defined by a slight scarp (H 0.1-0.2m) N of this feature.
