Description
On a gentle SW-facing slope with a S-N section of the Scrammoge River c. 220m to the W. Described as a circular area (diam. c. 34m N-S) defined by two earthen banks and an intervening fosse with a possible hut site (RO023-143002-) at the centre (Gannon 1972). Description
On a gentle E-facing slope. Subcircular or D-shaped grass-covered area used as a haggard (dims 65.2m NE-SW; 58m NW-SE) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth 2.4-4.6m; int. H 0.2-0.5m; ext. H 0.7m) E-S-N, which is reduced to a scarp (H 0.6m) N-E and incorporated into a field boundary S-W, and a complete fosse (Wth of top 3.8-4.7m; Wth of base 2.4-2.8m; D 0.2-0.6m) which is re-cut as a drain S-W. Description
A bridge is marked on the Petty map of Roscommon barony dated 1683 between Clonycoylemore (Clooneen) and Ballytynne (Ballyfeeny) townlands. It is on the boundary of the parishes of Bumlin in Roscommon barony and Kilglass in Ballintober North. A three-arch bridge (L c. 15m) with dressed voussoirs is built as one unit (Wth c. 6m) across the S-N Scramoge River. The present bridge may be 18th century in date. Description
Marked as a ruined mill on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. This is a rectangular structure (ext. dims 6.7m E-W; 6.1m N-S; H 1m) surviving as a grass-covered cairn with external wall-facings visible (H c. 0.4m at E to 2m at W).
