  Description

  Marked only on the 1914 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated on the lower W-facing slope of a drumlin c. 50m from the NE shore of Shanballybaun Lough, an oval lake (max. dims c. 550m NE-SW; c. 350m NW-SE) which has one crannog (RO007-041----). Circular overgrown area (diam. 19-20m) in mixed woodland defined by a low scarp (H 0.2-0.6m) N-W. There is no visible fosse or entrance. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010

  Description

  In Shanballybaun Lough (max. dims. c. 550m NE-SW; c. 350m NW-SE), c. 100m from the SE shore. Overgrown mound (diam. 5m; H c. 0.4m) of earth and stone with a wide sloping shore benath the water (Wth c. 5m) which then falls away steeply.   Towards the top of a S-facing slope. Circular overgrown area (diam. c. 25m) in a mixed woodland defined by a scarp (H 0.4-1m). There is no visible fosse or entrance, but it is surrounded by drains.   Description

  Towards the top of a SE-facing slope. Subcircular grass-covered area (dims 30m E-W; 26m N-S) defined by a scarp (H 0.1-0.6m) WNW-NE and ESE-WSW with an earthen bank (Wth 4-4.2m; int. H 0.2m; ext. H 0.5m) on the perimeter at W. There is no visible fosse or entrance, but the site is truncated by a NW-SE field wall at E.   Description

  On a S-facing slope. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 23m N-S) defined by a scarp (H 0.2m at NW to 0.6m at S) at NW and ESE-WSW, a partly grass-covered stone spread (Wth 1.45m at W to 3m at E; int. H 0.1-0.55m; ext. H 0.4m) at E and W and a scarp down to the interior (H 0.2m) N-NE. There is no visible entrance, and the interior is bisected by NW-SE field wall and hedge.
