  Description

  Towards the bottom of a NW-facing slope of Ardmullan Hill overlooking the SE corner of Lough Funshinagh, a large turlough c. 450m to the NW. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 34.3m NNW-SSE; 31.3m ENE-WSW) defined by an earthen bank with bushes (at SSE: Wth 5.7m; int. H 0.7m; ext. H 1.05m) and an outer fosse (at SSE: Wth of top 4.3m; Wth of base 0.7m; D 0.3m) ESE-WNW, and a less substantial bank (at NNW: Wth 4m; int. H 0.15m; ext.   Description

  Visible as a circular feature (diam. c. 30m) on aerial photographs (GSIAP: M 469-8), and situated towards the top of a N-facing slope of Ardmullan Hill. Subrectangular grass-covered platform (dims of top 12m E-W; 9m N-S; dims of base 22m E-W; 21m N-S; H 0.35-0.45m E-S to 1.15-2m W-N) separated by a berm (Wth 17-20m) from slight traces of a low bank curving E-S. • RO045-187 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  Towards the top of a NE-facing slope of Ardmullan Hill. D-shaped grass and scrub-covered area (dims 32.6m NNE-SSW, c. 20m WNW-ESE) defined by an earthen bank (at E: Wth 7.4m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 1.6m) with no visible fosse NNE-E-SSW. There is an entrance (Wth 1.8m) at ESE. The monument is truncated at W by a NNE-SSW field bank and does not survive visibly W of this. • RO048-021 Ringfort - cashel
  Description

  Marked only on the 1915 ed. of the OS 6-inch map as a circular enclosure (ext. diam. c. 35m) and situated on a W-facing slope in an area with stone field walls.   Description

  Marked only on the 1915 ed. of the OS 6-inch map with houses c. 50m to the N and S, and situated towards the top of a SW-facing slope where it is built into the hillside. This is a circular stone-walled structure (int. diam. 1.4m; max. H 1.3m) with a doorway (Wth 0.4m; H 0.55m) at ESE, but the roof does not survive.   Description

  On a S-facing slope above the crest of the S-facing slope of Ardmullan Hill. Circular raised grass-covered area (diam. 46.5m WNW-ESE; 43.5m NNE-SSW) defined by an earthen bank (at SSW: Wth 6.5m; int. H 0.2m; ext. H 1.35m) reduced to a scarp in places, with a fosse (at NNE: Wth of top 6.3m; Wth of base 2m; D 0.8m) N-E. There is an entrance (Wth 2.4m) at SE. A field wall is built on perimeter W-NW, and the perimeter is quarried NNW-NE. Rath (RO048-024----) is c. 190m to the NE. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010

  Description

  On a prominent rise on an E-facing slope of Ardmullan Hill. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 22.5m WNW-ESE; 21.5m NNE-SSW) defined by intermittently visible facing-stones of what was probably a stone-clad earthen bank (Wth 1.3-1.4m; max. ext. H 0.8m).
