• LF010-004 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  On top of a low but prominent drumlin rise. A raised oval area (39m NW-SE; 33m NE-SW) enclosed from SE-W-N by a bank of earth and stone (Wth 5-7m; H 0.3-0.95m) and elsewhere defined by a scarp (H 1.4-2.15m). A wide shallow external fosse (Wth 6m; D 0.6m) is visible from SE-SSE-S and from WNW-NW. A report in 1975 (SMR file) recorded slight traces of a low outer bank at NW and noted that the original entrance was at E. Compiled by: Patrick F. O'Donovan Date of upload: 28 November 2011

• LF010-005 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  On top of a drumlin in pasture. A raised circular area (diam. c. 22m) enclosed from NW-N-NNE by a wide, low bank of earth and stone (Wth 6m; H 0.2-0.5m). From NE-ENE-E and from SW-W-WNW the defining element is a scarp (H 0.5-0.85m). The monument is divided into unequal portions by a modern, NE-SW field boundary. The much-smaller portion, to the SE, is occupied by modern, although now-disused, farm buildings and a farmyard. There is no trace of a fosse and the original entrance is not recognisable.   Description

  On top of a low drumlin, on an E-facing slope. A raised circular area (diam. 25.5m) enclosed by a low bank of earth and stone (Wth 3.3-4.3m; H 0.2-1.05m) with a shallow external fosse (Wth 3.7m; D 0.3m), which is identifiable only from WSW-W-NW. • LF010-008 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  Close to the base of a NW-facing slope in pasture. A raised subcircular area (39m E-W; 36.5m N-S) defined by a scarp (H 0.85-1.3m), with a fosse (Wth 3.8-4.5m; D 0.2-0.4m) from WSW-N-NE and from E-ESE. An outer bank (Wth 3-5m; H 0.4-0.75m) is identifiable from W-WNW, from NNW-N-NE and from E-ESE. At ENE the outline of the levelled fosse and outer bank are marked by a berm (Wth 3.5-4m). A report in 1975 (SMR file) suggested that the original entrance may have been at SE and noted a small shallow depression, of unknown significance, in the interior at SW. Compiled by: Patrick F.
