• SL005-025 Mound
  Description

  Situated on a slight rise in gently undulating pasture. The site is located on the N side of a farmyard area and is itself bounded on the N side by a road and on the W side by a lane. Not marked on the 1837 edition of the OS 6-inch map but depicted on the 1912 edition of the 6'' OS 6-inch map as a semi-circular area (dims. c.18m E-W; c.10m N-S) immediately to the S of a public roadway. The site has been largely quarried away and the area heavily disturbed. There are no definite archaeological features now visible at ground level. Compiled by: Patrick F.   Description

  Situated in level wet pasture. Shown on the 1835 edition of the OS 6-inch map as lying within a clachán and on the 1912 edition as a roughly equilateral triangular area (L each side c.15m).   Description

  Located at the NE end of a modern concrete farmyard. Roughly circular-shaped block of stone (0.45m x c. 0.4m; H 0.28m) with central circular depression (0.26m x 0.28m; D 0.13m) in its upper surface. The stone has a roughly circular horizontal cross-section but its vertical cross-section is rather bucket-shaped, with relatively vertical sides and a flat base. The central depression is smooth-surfaced, with gently sloping sides grading into a rounded base. The provenance of the stone is unknown (pers. comm. Leo Leydon 2015). • SL005-191 Fulacht fia
  Description

  In the SW corner of a pasture field, with a gently fall of ground immediately to W-SW. This fulacht fia is evident as a low, grass-covered kidney-shaped mound (13m N–S; 10m E–W; H 0.3m). It is composed of a dense concentration of angular stones in black soil. A shallow indentation (Wth 4m) on the SW side faces a natural depression of damp ground, and is the likely location of the trough. Notified to NMS by Leo Leyden.   Description

  Detached four-bay two-storey rendered house, built c. 1860. Single-storey flat-roofed porch c. 1980 to front (east) elevation, single-storey extension to south-west. Pitched slate roofs to main house and first half of return, clay ridge tiles, concrete verge cappings, unpainted smooth-rendered chimneystacks with stepped capping. Pitched corrugated-iron roof to west end of return. Painted roughcast walling. Square-headed window openings, painted stone sills, uPVC casement windows c. 2000 and fixed lights to porch. Square-headed entrance door opening, hardwood door with six panels c. 1980. Set back from road behind narrow unbounded frontage. Single- and two-storey outbuildings to south and west, pitched slate roofs, unpainted roughcast walling, square-headed door openings with painted vertically-sheeted doors.
