Description
Low-lying area on margin of wet ground to W and S, overgrown with larches. It is adjacent on the W side to the townland boundary and lies c. 550m SE of Danganbeg Castle (KK031-007----). Referred to by O'Kelly (1969, 169) as a 'moat' in the 'moat field' and locally known as 'the rath'. A rectangular, almost square area (max. dims. 23m E-W; 18.5m N-S) enclosed by an earthen bank (Wth 2.5m; H 0.5-1.5m) and a wide deep waterlogged flat-bottomed fosse (Wth at top 5m; Wth at base 2.6m; D 0.9m), except on the S side where the fosse has been infilled. Description
Detached three-bay three-storey Gothic-style glebe house with dormer attic, c.1800, with single-bay full-height entrance breakfront, and three-bay three-storey return to north. In use as rectory, 1903. Renovated. Now in private residential use. Pitched slate roof behind parapet (hipped to return) with clay ridge tiles, rendered chimney stacks, and cast-iron rainwater goods on slightly overhanging eaves. Random rubble limestone wall to front (south) elevation originally rendered with render removed, painted rendered plinth having cut-limestone stringcourse, unpainted rendered battlemented parapet on profiled course (crow-stepped parapets to side elevations having cut-limestone coping), and unpainted rendered walls to remainder (over slate hanging to return). Square-headed window openings (quatrefoil window openings to gables to side elevations) with cut-limestone sills, concealed red brick block-and-start surrounds (exposed to front (south) elevation), six-over-nine (ground floor), six-over-six (remainder) timber sash windows to main block having fixed-pane timber windows to quatrefoil openings, six-over-six and three-over-six (top) floor timber sash windows to return. Segmental-headed door opening approached by nine cut-limestone steps having wrought iron railings, cut-limestone Doric doorcase incorporating archivolt, and timber panelled door having fanlight. Interior with timber panelled shutters to window openings. Set back from road in own grounds with cut-limestone piers having cut-limestone capping, and wrought iron double gates having arrow-head finials.

Description
Farmyard complex, c.1800, including:(i) Detached five-bay two-storey outbuilding. Hipped slate roof with clay ridge tiles, rendered chimney stack, and no rainwater goods on rendered eaves. Painted roughcast walls over random rubble limestone construction. Square-headed window openings with cut-limestone sills, concealed dressings, and fixed-pane timber windows having lattice glazing with louvered panel fittings to first floor (most to first floor now boarded-up). Square-headed door opening with concealed dressings, and timber boarded half-door. Set back from road in grounds shared with Vicarsfield Rectory about a gravel courtyard.(ii) Detached two-bay two-storey coach house with pair of elliptical-headed carriageways to ground floor. Hipped slate roof with clay ridge tiles, and remains of iron rainwater goods on rendered eaves. Unpainted roughcast walls over random rubble limestone construction. Pair of elliptical-headed carriageways to ground floor with concealed dressings, and timber boarded double doors. Square-headed window openings with cut-limestone sills, concealed dressings, and louvered panel fittings.(iii) Detached three-bay two-storey outbuilding. Now disused. Pitched slate roof with clay ridge tiles, and no rainwater goods on rendered eaves. Painted roughcast walls over random rubble limestone construction. Square-headed window openings with no sills, concealed dressings, and louvered panel fittings. Square-headed door openings with timber lintels, and remains of timber doors.
