  Description

  Visible as a subcircular feature (dims c. 35m E-W; c. 30m N-S), probably defined by a stone wall or a stone spread, on aerial photographs (GSIAP: M 222-3), and situated on a rise on a S-facing slope. It is not visible at ground level in reclaimed pasture. Enclosure (RO045-064----) is c. 100m to the S, and cashels (RO045-065----; RO045-066----) are c. 120m to the ENE and 130m to the E respectively.   Description

  Visible as a D-shaped enclosure (dims c. 25m E-W; c. 20m N-S) defined by a stone wall on aerial photographs (GSIAP: M 222-3) and associated with abandoned houses which are marked on the 1837 and 1915 eds of the OS 6-inch map. Situated on a S-facing slope, it is not visible at ground level in reclaimed pasture but it is probably post-medieval in date.   Description

  Towards the top of a S-facing slope. Circular grass-covered area (int. dims 38.4m NNW-SSE; 37.4m ENE-WSW) defined by a grass-covered stone spread (Wth 2.5-3.6m; H 0.6-0.8m) with intermittently visible facing-stones (original Wth 1.5m at NW to 2.1m at E). There is an entrance (Wth 2.6m) at SE and the interior is overlain by grass-covered field walls and grass-covered spoil mounds.   Description

  Visible on aerial photographs (GSIAP: M222-3), and situated on a S-facing slope. Oval grass and scrub-covered area (dims 31.7m NW-SE; c. 25m NE-SW) defined by a grass-covered stone spread (Wth c. 3.3m; H 0.8m-1m) NW-N and SE-SW, with numerous clearance cairns within and without.   Description

  On the crest of a slight NW-SE spur. Circular overgrown area (diam. c. 36m E-W) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth 4.5-5.2m; int. H 0.45-0.65m; ext. H 1.1-1.9m), which is incorporated into a field bank with stone facing SE-WSW. There is an intermittently visible fosse (at N: Wth of top 6.6m; Wth of base 2.5m; D 1.8m) and traces of an outer bank (at N: Wth 5m; ext. H 0.2m).   Description

  On the crest at the S end of a slight NW-SE spur, and described as 'Kilcommon Fort' in gothic lettering on the OS 6-inch maps. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 79.8m N-S; 79.1m E-W) defined by a grass and scrub-covered bank (at ESE: Wth 4.7m; H 0.2-0.5m) ENE-SSE surviving E of a N-S field wall. Elsewhere the perimeter is defined by a scarp (H 0.2-0.5m). There is no visible fosse or identifiable original entrance. Kilcommon church (RO045-116001-) is immediately to the S.   Description

  Listed as Kilcimacan in the ecclesiastical taxation of Elphin in 1306 (Cal. doc. Ire. vol. 5, 224) and situated on the crest at the S end of a low NW-SE spur. The church is a rectangular structure (ext. dims 10.85m E-W; 6.3m N-S) whose W wall, with the doorway and N wall hardly survive. There are 12th-century round-headed windows in the E wall and towards the E end of the S wall. A tomb inside the church which is blocking the E window re-uses a graveslab (RO045-116003-) (L 2m; Wth 1.05; T 0.15m) of Patricia (?) and Column Kelly of Creggan with a Latin inscription and a date of 1685. The slab is incised with a simple cross which has a calvary and fleur-de-lis terminals. The church is within a diamond-shaped graveyard (RO045-116002-) (dims c. 70m E-W; c. 35m N-S) defined by a masonry wall. Enclsoure (RO045-115----) is immediately to the N.   Description

  A tomb inside the church of Kilcommon (RO045-116001-) which is blocking the E window re-uses a graveslab (dims 2m x 1.05; T 0.15m) of Patricia (?) and Column Kelly of Creggan with a Latin inscription in false relief and a date of 1685. The slab is incised with a simple cross which has a calvary and fleur-de-lis terminals.   Description

  On a rise in an undulating landscape. Circular grass and scrub-covered area with some bushes (diam. 49m E-W; 46.5m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 3.3m; int. H 0.25m; ext. H 0.5m) at E, which is reduced to a scarp (at W: H 1.1m) elsewhere. There is no visible fosse or identifiable original entrance, and the monument is surrounded by a field wall which is revetting the scarp SW-NNW.
