  Description

  On top of a drumlin in a coniferous forest. Circular overgrown area (diam. 23m) defined by a gapped earthen bank (Wth 3-4m; int. H 0.1-0.3m; ext. H 0.3-0.7m), but traces of a fosse (Wth of top 2.5m; D 0.3m) and outer bank (Wth 2m) at SE which were visible in 1982 (SMR file) can no longer be seen. There is no recognisable entrance.   Description

  On a slight rise in an undulating landscape. D-shaped overgrown area (diam. c. 26m) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 4-5.5m; int. H 0.1-0.25m; ext.   Description

  At the top of an E-facing rise in a deciduous wood. Circular area (diam. 36.5m E-W; 35m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 3.7-4m; int. H 0.25m; ext. H 0.9-1.1m) S-NNW and a scarp (H 0.7m) elsewhere, with an outer fosse (Wth of top 3.3m; D 0.2m) SW-NW. There is no identifiable original entrance. An arc (int. diam. c. 20m) of a stone spread (Wth 3.5-4m; H 0.05-0.15m) can be traced inside the bank W-N-E. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010

  Description

  Marked similarly on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated in a boggy hollow. Rectangular depression (dims 2m E-W; 1.4m N-S), now dry and surrounded by a drystone wall in a clump of alders. There is no evidence of, or knowledge of, veneration.   Description

  On the NW-facing slope of a hill, c. 80m N of Derreen Lough. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 35.5m NW-SE; 32.5m NE-SW) defined by a flat-topped earthen bank and hedge (Wth 2.4-4.7m; int. H 0.2-0.75m; ext. H 0.55-1.1m), which is reduced to a scarp (H 1.25m) NW-NE. There is a fosse (Wth of top 4.2-4.7m; D 0.1-0.2m) SW-W-NW, continued by a berm (Wth 4m) NW-N, but there is no identifiable original entrance. • Rockingham House, gate lodge, 1800–1820 · Regional interest
  Description

  Detached octagonal-plan multiple-bay two-storey former gate lodge to Rockingham Demesne, built c.1810, with flanking entrance bays and loggia to front and extension to rear. Now in use as a private dwelling. Tiled roof with rendered chimneystack and stepped rendered dentil cornices. Painted cut stone walls to ground floor with colonnade of octagonal columns to loggia. Rendered upper storey with cut stone quoins. uPVC windows with stone sills. Round-headed door openings with limestone thresholds, timber battened doors and spoked fanlights. uPVC doors to extension. Front site bounded by a low plinth wall with wrought-iron railings and gate flanked by octagonal limestone piers. Located opposite entrance to Rockingham Demesne with cut limestone piers flanked by curving cut limestone wall.

• Worker's house, 1870–1910 · Regional interest
  Description

  Detached three-bay two-storey estate worker's house, built c.1890, with gabled entrance porch and lean-to shed to south gable. No longer in use. Pitched tiled roof with rendered chimneystacks, terracotta ridge tiles and cast-iron rainwater goods. Pitched slate roof to porch with decorative timber barge-boards. Roughcast-rendered walls. Square-headed window openings with timber casement diamond-paned windows with stone sills. Windows to entrance porch with stone lintels. Timber battened and panelled doors. Walled rear yard.
