Description
On a shelf of an E-facing slope. Subircular grass and scrub-covered area (dims 58m N-S; 52m E-W) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth 6.2-8.6m; int. H 0.7-1.1m; ext. H 1.7-1.9m generally to 2.3 at E) and outer fosse (Wth of top 6.5-7.4m generally to10m at E; Wth of base 2.1-3m generally to 3.9m at E; D 0.5m at W to 0.9-1.1m N-E). Description
At the crest of an E-facing slope. Circular grass and scrub-covered area (diam. 29.8m N-S; 27.5m E-W) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth 4.4-7.7m; int. H 0.1-0.6m; ext. H 1.3m at S to 2.2m at W) and outer fosse (Wth of top 5.6-6m; Wth of base 1.8-2.6m; D 0.5-0.9m) which has been extended into ponds at SW (dims 16m x 6m) and NW (dims 12m x 6m). The modernised entrance (Wth 3m) and causeway (Wth 6m) are at SSE. Rath (RO023-173----) is c. 210m to the N and rath (RO023-175----) is c. 90m to the SW. Description
At the S-facing crest of a low ridge. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 30.8m E-W; 30.2m N-S) defined by a low earthen bank (Wth 3-5.5m; int. H 0.2-0.4m; ext. H 0.8-1.2m), which is reduced to a scarp (H 1.2m) SE-WSW, and an outer fosse (Wth of top 4.6-6.6m; Wth of base 2.3-2.9m; D 0.2-0.5m). There is no identifiable original entrance and the site is overlain by a N-S field bank towards the perimeter at E.
