In a level garden in front of a house. The remains of a circular stone-built structure (int. diam. 10.5m) with low grass-covered walls (Wth 1m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 0.8m). Description
In undulating ground. A raised circular area (int. diam. 17m) enclosed by an earth and stone bank (Wth 2.5m; int. H 0.8m; ext. H 1.8m). The interior is concave in profile. Description
In undulating pasture, near the top of a S-facing slope of a ridge. A circular area (int. diam. 22.5m) enclosed by an earth and stone bank (Wth 2.5m; int. H 1m; ext. H 0.8m). Trees grow along the bank. There is an entrance (Wth 1m) at N with a large block of limestone marking its W side. The interior slopes down to S. Description
On a break of a SE-facing slope. A slightly raised circular area (int. diam. 26m) enclosed by a poorly preserved earthen bank (Wth 2.5m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 1.1m) and an external fosse (Wth 1.8m; D 0.2m). There is an entrance (Wth 1.5m) at S with a causeway across the fosse. The rath is partially covered with overgrowth. - SL033-192 Kiln - lime
Description
Not listed in either the SMR (1989) or RMP (1995). This limekiln is cut into N-facing hillside in a small limestone quarry. The limekiln comprises rubble limestone walls laid in rough courses and bonded with a gravely lime mortar. The front elevation (H 3.2m) faces NNE, with a wooden lintelled recess (H 1.6m; D 1.65m) and a stepped lower lintel with a supporting wooden and iron bar. The rear of the recess consists of stepped stones with an ope at the base which is blocked with rubble. The bottom of funnel (diam. 2.1m) is infilled with rubble. Description
In pasture, on a break of a SE-facing slope. This well comprises a circular stone-built platform (Wth 2m; H 0.2m). The opening (Wth 0.8m) in the centre of the platform is infilled with stones. - SL033-210 Kiln - lime
Description
Not listed in either the SMR (1989) or the RMP (1995). Not shown on any edition of the OS 6-inch map. In pasture, on the W side of a road. A mid/late 19th-century limekiln which is built against the slope. This is a rectangular structure (3.3m N-S; 5.4m E-W) with rounded corners, inclining inwards with height. Random rubble limestone walls encase an earthen core. The front elevation (H c. 4m) faces N and has a stone-lintelled recess (Wth 1.65m; H 1.8m; D 2m) supported by a wooden pole. The recess is stepped down towards the rear and there is a narrow rectangular ope at the base. The funnel is infilled but its position is indicated by a circular depression (diam. 2m; D 1.5m). There is a low earthen ramp to rear. A small yard area in front of the recess is defined by a scarp on the E side and a stone wall on the W side. This is probably post-1700 AD in date.
