• SL008-093 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  Situated on a very slight NNE-facing slope, in gently undulating wet pasture. Slightly raised, roughly D-shaped area (dims. 26m N-S; 25m E-W) enclosed by a narrow bank of earth and stone (Wth 2.9m int. H 0.3m). At the external foot of the bank is a fosse (Wth 3.6m). There is slight trace of a possible external bank (Wth 2m) N-SE. The internal bank is gently curving NW-SE, straight SE-SW and SW-NW. The two straight sections of the bank, orientated NNE-WSW and WNW-ESE meet at a right angle at SW. The fosse is almost completely silted up SW-NW. The original entrance is not recognisable. • SL008-143 Ringfort - unclassified
  Description

  Situated on a slight S-facing slope in gently undulating pasture. Depicted as a roughly circular area (diam c.20m) on the 1836-7 edition of the OS 6-inch map but not shown on the 1940-1 edition. • SL008-144 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  Situated on a slight rise, in gently undulating pasture, with good views in all directions. This is the westernmost of two conjoined raths (the other is SL008-185----) which abut each other on an E-W alignment. This rath consists of a raised circular area (diam. c. 18m) enclosed by an earthen bank (Wth 3.4m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 1.6m), outside which there is a fosse (Wth 3.65m) with an external earthen bank (Wth 3.05; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 0.5m). At NNW corresponding breaks (Wth 1.5m) in the inner and external banks marks the position of the original entrance. At SE-SW the external bank has been partly removed, and at W-NW it has been incorporated into a NNW-ESE orientated field boundary. The level interior is engulfed in dense overgrowth. • SL008-185 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  Situated on a slight rise, in gently undulating pasture, with good views in all directions. This is the easternmost of two conjoined raths (the other is SL008-144----) which abut each other on an E-W alignment. This rath consists of a slightly raised circular area (diam. 18m) enclosed by a broad, low earthen bank (Wth 7.1m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 0.7m). The interior is slightly dished, and slopes down slightly to SSE. At W the enclosing bank abuts the external bank of the second rath (SL008-144----).
