  Description

  In improved pasture. Circular area (dims. 9m N-S; 10m E-W) defined by low bank (Wth 2.4m; int. H 0.2m; ext. H 0.45m) SW-ESE. Breaches in bank at SW, WNW, ENE and E. Fosse (basal Wth 1.3m; overall Wth 3.3m; D 0.15m) traceable SW-NE and ENE-E, and is best defined W-N. Interior denuded of soil exposing roots of several trees planted within. Monument truncated by field boundary (long-axis ENE-WSW) and deep land drain (D c. 1.5m) across SSE-sector. Evidence of old water channels as a result of land drainage; Natural scarp of dry water channel (long-axis E-W) is 4.5m to N. Ditch barrow (TS066-061001-) located 2m to W.   Description

  In improved pasture, on a naturally raised area above dry stream beds and water channels. Enclosure (TS066-061----) is located c. 2m to the E. A very low profile circular area (dims. 4.5m N-S.; 4m E-W) defined by a fosse (Wth 1.5m; D 0.07m). The interior is level and is the same height as the external ground level.   In improved pasture, on an elevated area of ground defined by old water channels. A ditch barrow (TS066-061003-) abuts c. 2m to the WNW and a ditch barrow (TS066-061004-) is located c. 10m to the W. A circular area (dims. 2.2m N-S.; 2m E-W) defined by a fosse (Wth 1.5m; D 0.05-0.12m). The interior is dome-shaped and is marginally higher than the external ground level.   Description

  In improved pasture, on an elevated area of ground defined by old water channels. A ditch barrow (TS066-061002-) abuts c. 2m to the ESE and another (TS066-061004-) is located c. 7m to the W. A circular area (dims. 2.5m N-S.; 2.3m E-W) defined by a fosse (Wth 1m; D 0.08-0.1m). • TS066-062 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  In improved pasture, above natural scarp of flood plain, c. 5m to S of River Ara. Circular area (dims. 27m N-S; 29m E-W) defined by scarp (Wth 1.85-2.9m; H 0.3-0.85m), an intervening fosse (basal Wth 2.15m; overall Wth 5m; D 0.6m), an intervening bank (Wth 4.35-4.95m; int. H 0.6-0.8m; ext. H 0.65-1.45m), an outer fosse (basal Wth 1.6m; overall Wth 4.65m; D 0.7m) evident from NNW-NNE and ESE-W and an outer bank (Wth 4.4m; int. H 0.7m; ext. H 0.4m) is evident from NNW-NNE, ESE and SSE-W and has a gap (Wth 0.8m) at SW. The ringfort defined by a natural rise SW-WSW. The interior is slightly uneven due to growth of deciduous trees. The internal scarp has occasional gaps (Wth 1.5m) WNW-NW and is worn by cattle from ENE-SSE. The intervening bank is slightly lower NE-ENE and slightly higher at ESE and has several gaps, one (Wth 1.8m) at WNW, two (Wth 1.5m) at E and one (Wth 4m) at SE. • TS066-064 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  In improved pasture, on S-bank of River Ara. Oval area (dims. 24m NE-SW; 22m NW-SE) defined by scarp (Wth 4m; H 1.5m). Scarp is damaged SW-NW and at NE by badger sets and is best preserved (Wth 5.5m; H 2m) W-N. Possible entrance (Wth 2m) at SE. Fosse (overall Wth 9.25m; basal Wth 3.25m; D 0.2m) NNE-WSW and monument is defined by river WSW-NNE. Fosse is slightly damaged at NW due to cutting of a watering point in river bank. Interior uneven as it is riddled with numerous badger sets. Monument fenced off from rest of field. Fence cuts through fosse to E and S. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 26 August 2011

  Description

  Single-arch hump back road bridge, over River Ara, dated 1857. Roughly-dressed limestone walls with cut sandstone string course over margined rock-faced limestone voussoirs to segmental arch. Plaques to north and south parapet walls.
