• TS057-019001 Moated site
  Description

  In gently undulating rough pasture at the SW side of a small complex of earthworks consisting of moated site (TS057-019002-), trackway (TS057-019003-) and another moated site (TS057-019004-). Slightly raised rectangular area (dims. 36m NW-SE; 32m NE-SW) enclosed by an low flat-topped earthen bank (int. H 0.3m; ext. H 1.1m; Wth at top 2.2m; overall Wth 5.9m) with an intermediate broad-bottomed fosse (Wth at base 2.2m) and a low flat-topped external earthen bank (int. H 0.8m; ext. H 0.3m; Wth at top 1.4m; overall Wth 4.7m). The internal bank, fosse and external bank are absent ENE-SSE along the SE side where the moated site is defined by a modern NE-SW orientated drainage ditch. From ESE-W the internal bank has been incorporated into a NW-SE orientated field bank and the external bank is absent. A break (Wth 3.5m) in the internal bank, with a slight causeway across the fosse, and a corresponding break (Wth 6m) in the external bank at toward the NW end of the NE side mark the position of the original entrance.   In gently undulating rough pasture within a small complex of earthworks consisting of moated site (TS057-019001-), trackway (TS057-019003-) and another moated site (TS057-019004-). • TS057-019003 Road - road/trackway
  Description

  In gently undulating rough pasture. Trackway extends from 8m outside the entrance of the moated site (TS 057-019001) between two moated sites (TS057-019002- to the NW and TS057-019004- to the SE). The trackway consists of a slightly raised flat-topped linear feature (dims. L 44m NE-SW; Wth 8m NW-SE at SW end; 2m NW-SE at NE end) curving slightly from SW to NE along its length, defined by a low earthen scarp (Wth 1.15-1.6m; H 0.35m) with a slight flat-bottomed fosse (Wth at base 1.7m; overall Wth 3m; D 0.15-0.25m) at either side. A clearly defined square end defined by a scarp survives at the SW limit of the hollow way while the NE end is less regular being defined by a disturbed scarp possibly indicating that it extended further to the NE. • TS057-019004 Moated site
  Description

  In gently undulating rough pasture within a small complex of earthworks that contains moated site (TS057-019001-), trackway (TS057-019003-) and another moated site (TS057-019002-). Slightly raised roughly rectangular area (dims. 22m NE-SW; 23m NW-SE) enclosed by a low earthen scarp (Wth 1.4m; H 0.3m). The scarp is only barely visible on the NE side and is very difficult to follow at ground level. Moated site abuts the fosse defining the hollow-way on the NW side and extends along the NE half of the visible length of the hollow-way (total L 44m). The original entrance is not recognisable. • TS057-020 Barrow - stepped barrow
  Description

  On a slight E-facing slope in pasture. Ring-barrow (TS057-031----) is located 100m to the WNW. Slightly raised area (diam. 18m) enclosed by an earthen scarp (Wth 2m; H 1m) separated by a wide flat-bottomed fosse (Wth at base 2m) from an intermediate bank (int. H 0.5-0.95m; ext. H 0.5-0.70m; Wth at top 4m; overall Wth 7.4m) with a second wide flat-bottomed fosse (Wth at base 1.25m) and an low broad external earthen bank (int. H 0.4-0.7m; ext. H 0.15m; Wth at top 2m; overall Wth 5.7m). From E-SE the fosses and the intermediate bank are very denuded with only very slight remains visible at ground level and the external bank is absent NW-SE. • TS057-028 Moated site
  Description

  On a slight S-facing slope in gently undulating pasture. Roughly rectangular area (dims. 34m NNW-SSE; 31m ENE-WSW) enclosed by a broad gently sloping earthen scarp (Wth 3m; ext. H 0.35m) with a broad flat-bottomed fosse (Wth at base 3m; overall Wth 6.1m). On the N and E sides the scarped edge is very slight and difficult to trace at ground level. The fosse is almost entirely infilled and barely visible at ground level on the W, N and E sides with modern NNW-ESE orientated field bank extending along the outer edge of the fosse on the E side.   Description

  On a slight E-facing slope in pasture. Barrow (TS057-020----) located 100m to the ESE. Circular area (diam. 4m) enclosed by an earthen scarped edge (Wth 1.1-1.4m; H 0.2-0.25m) with a shallow fosse (Wth at base 1.35m) and a low broad external earthen bank (int. H 0.25-0.3m; ext. H 0.1-0.3m; Wth at top 1.7-1.9m; overall Wth 4.3-4.9m). From NW-N the external bank and the outer edge of the fosse are virtually absent. The interior slopes very slightly facing SE.
