Description
In flat terrain surrounded by rough, wet pasture with woodland to S. Monument has been badly disturbed. The perimeter is heavily overgrown with thorn bushes and brambles while interior is covered in grassy hummocks. Pond in interior in S sector, it appears to be the result of quarrying with upcast dumped on top of the bank in the S quadrant. Roughly circular area (diam. c. 65m NNW-SSE) defined by a bank (Wth c. 3.5m; int. H c. 0.68m; ext. H 0.7m) and external fosse (Wth 1.8-2m; D 0.24m). In N, E and S quadrants the external fosse has been recut to form a deep, steep-sided waterlogged field drain, while the external drain in the W quadrant is shallow and overgrown with vegetation. Along inner edge of bank in NE quadrant heaps of earth have been dumped. Gap (Wth 2.8m) in W quadrant with causeway over fosse. The monument is depicted as being circular (diam. c. 53m) on the 1st (1840) ed. OS 6-inch map. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 26 August 2011

- TS062-084 Moated site
Description
On low natural rise in wet, rushy terrain in rough pasture. Bivallate ringfort (TS062-085----) located c. 200m to ESE. Circular moated site (diam. 33.6m N-S and E-W) enclosed by a low bank with high stone content (Wth 2.8-3.5m, int. H 0.24-0.33m; ext. H 1.37m), waterlogged, flat-bottomed fosse (Wth 4.2-4.7m; D 1.2-1.69m) and flat-topped stoney outer bank (Wth 4.9m; ext. H 1m). No defined entrance. In the NW quadrant the inner face of the outer bank slopes into the fosse (Wth 6m) to form a slight causeway, this is the only section of fosse that was not waterlogged at time of inspection. Gap (Wth 0.9m) in inner bank in SE quadrant. A deep drain runs roughly N-S along NE quadrant truncating the outer face of the outer bank. Field boundary runs roughly N-S along E quadrant with a deep outer ditch. In the interior there are two definite building footings (TS062-084001-; TS062-084002-) and a third possible footing (TS062-084003-). If contemporary with the moated site the wall-footings of the internal buildings, possibly houses, are medieval in date. One, (TS062-084001-) in the S sector is aligned E-W, the other (TS062-084002-) in the E sector utilises the E bank of the moated site to form the E side of the structure. A possible third structure (TS062-084003-), less well defined then the other two structures, is located in the W sector and appears to utilise the W bank of the moated site to form the W side of the structure. This building (dims. 7.3m x 12.8m) in the S sector is aligned E-W and has a possible T-plan projection off the N wall (dims. 3.1m x 4.2m) and an entrance (Wth 1.9m) roughly midway along the S wall. Description
On fairly level ground in undulating terrain, surrounded by rough pasture. Moated site (TS062-084----) located c. 200m to NW. Bivallate ringfort (diam. 50m N-S; 48.9m E-W) enclosed by a bank (Wth 5.7-7.2m; int. H 0.9m), fosse (Wth 2.6m; D 0.9-2.35m), outer bank (Wth 3.45-7.1m; ext. H 0.65-1.7m) and outer fosse (Wth 1.82-3.35m; D 0.35-0.75). In the S quadrant the outer bank has been partially removed creating a pond. On the 1903-04 OS 6-inch map a mound is depicted at the centre of the interior, however, this is in fact quite a steep-sided, flat-bottomed depression (dims. 13.5m x 15.4m; D 0.84-1.35m). Possible entrance in SW quadrant with reduced inner bank, slight causeway over fosse and gap in outer bank (Wth 1.95m). Large boulder in outer fosse in E quadrant as a result of field clearance. Field bank encloses the ringfort. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of revised upload: 15 October 2014

Quarry is indicated on the 1903-04 OS 6-inch map. The surviving portion is overgrown with trees and the bank is damaged by animal burrows. Based on OS 6-inch map the diameter is 30-40m. Remaining monument is enclosed by a earth and stone round-topped bank (Wth 6.6m; int. H 0.82m; ext. H 1.25m) and round-bottomed fosse (Wth 1.9m D 1.18m).
