  Description

  In grassland situated on a SW-facing slope of rising ground in upland area with good views to S and W, higher ground to N. Oval area (int. diam. 38m N-S; 30m E-W) enclosed by a well-preserved earth and stone bank (top Wth 1.8m; base Wth 3.8m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 1-2m) and outer fosse (base Wth 2m; top Wth 5m; ext. D 0.6m) only visible from SW to W, possible entrance gap (Wth 4m) at SW. Old field boundary which intersected by bank at E as depicted on latest ed. OS 6-inch map has since been removed and stone walling visible along bank at E may be remains of this field boundary. Interior slopes from N to S following natural slope of land.   Description

  In grassland on a W-facing slope just off summit of hill in upland region with good extensive views from S through W to N higher ground to E. Ringfort consists of a raised circular area (diam. 33m N-S; 32m E-W) enclosed by an earth and stone bank (top Wth 1.6m; base Wth 5.3m; int. H 0.4-0.7m; ext. H 0.8-1.6m) and outer fosse (base Wth 1.7m; top Wth 3.6m; ext.D 0.5m) visible from N through E to SE only and possible entrance gap (Wth 2.3m) at NW. Square-shaped house (TS053-069001-) defined by low grass-covered wall-footings in N quadrant of ringfort built up against inner face of bank at N. Possible souterrain (TS053-069002-) in S quadrant. Grass-covered wall-footings of a possible boundary wall (Wth 0.9m; L 7m; H 0.2m) runs off W from inner face of bank at E and may run onto NE angle of house. No evidence of any circular stone feature or possible hut site (TS053-069003-) mentioned by Cahill (1982) as being located immediately W of ringfort.   Description

  In improved pasture, on a SW-facing slope. No visible surface trace of monument. Ground uneven and undulating in area of monument and a poorly drained area is to N. Large-scale working quarry further to N. Depicted on 1840 edition OS 6-inch map as an oval enclosure (dims. c. 32m NE-SW; c. 28m NW-SE). According to Cahill (1982, R180), monument had one bank and one ditch, which was backfilled, and was very badly denuded and in a poor condition.   In improved pasture, on slightly raised area within low-lying landscape. Remains of oval area (dims. 27m N-S; 22m E-W) defined by levelled scarp (Wth 4-8m; H 0.3-0.65m) which is best defined S-E. Fosse (overall Wth 15.75m; basal Wth 4.75m; D 0.3m) SW-N. Interior is slightly uneven on surface. Scar of levelled field boundary respects monument N-SE.   Description

  In pasture, on a NW-facing slope. No visible surface trace. Depicted as a roughly circular enclosure (diam c. 38m) on 1840 edition OS 6-inch map. Not remembered locally as an enclosure. According to local information, the rectangular foundations of a building to NE of the enclosure are sometimes evident in dry weather. This building is believed locally to be an old court called the 'Shan Court'. Not depicted or named on 1840 edition OS 6-inch map. According to local information, the NMI came and took the old slates or flag type stones decades ago, probably sometime after the building had fallen or been dismantled.   In pasture, on a very gentle N-facing slope. Conjoined to ringfort (TS061-015001-) to SE via fosse. Circular area (diam. 23m) defined by well-preserved bank (overall Wth 5.75-6.05m; Wth at top 1.2-1.65m; int. H 0.3-0.75m; ext. H 1.6-2.15m) of earth and stone. Fosse (overall Wth 7.85m; basal Wth 2.8m; D 1.6m) is shared SE-SSW and is less pronounced (overall Wth 8.6m; basal Wth 3.3m; D 0.7m) SSW-SE. Possible portion of outer bank (overall Wth 4.2m; basal Wth 1.5m; int. H 0.7m; ext. H 0.3m) WNW-NW. Large boulders protruding from sod within bank at WNW. Entrance (overall Wth 7m; basal Wth 3m) at SW and gap (Wth 2m) at NE. Interior has a gentle tilt downslope to N. Field boundary (long axis WNW-ESE) abuts exterior of fosse at NE.   Description

  In pasture, on a very gentle N-facing slope. Conjoined to ringfort (TS061-015----) to NW via fosse. Oval area (dims. 26m N-S; c. 30m E-W) defined by well preserved bank of earth and stone. Bank (overall Wth 8.65m; Wth at top 1m; int. H 0.8m; ext. H 2.15m). Entrance (overall Wth 6.5m; basal Wth 4m) at SSE and breaches (Wth 2m) at N and WSW. Fosse (overall Wth 7.85m; basal Wth 2.8m; D 1.65m) is best preserved NW-NNE and is less pronounced (overall Wth 7.85m; basal Wth 2.7m; D 0.35m) NNE-E and SSE-NW; Absent E-SSE. Short length of field boundary (Wth 4.2m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 0.3m; L 12m) (long axis NE-SW) abuts exterior of fosse at WNW. Interior is generally level and E-half is obscured by overgrowth.
