  Description

  Situated on top of a ridge. An oval shaped area (approx. diam. 32m NW-SE; 17m NE-SW) enclosed by two banks of earth & stone with a shallow intervening fosse. The fosse is visible from SE-W-N. • WM009-026 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  Situated on a slight natural rise in gently undulating grassland. Overlooked by higher ground to the NW, with good views in other directions. Ringfort (WM009-025----) 180m to WNW. Ringfort (WM009-027---) 140m to SE. A sub-circular circular shaped area (approx. diam. 18m N-S; 20m E-W) enclosed by two poorly preserved earthen banks and an intervening fosse with possible entrance gap (Wth 1.8m) at ENE. The fosse is visible from E-S-W, while the low outer bank is visible from E-S-SSW. A rectangular house site (WM009-026001-) is visible in the interior. • WM009-026001 House - indeterminate date
  Description

  Situated on a slight natural rise in gently undulating grassland. Overlooked by higher ground to the NW, with good views in other directions. The grass covered wall footings of a rectangular house site (approx. int. dims L 5.2m x Wth 4.6m) defined by a wide, low earthen bank (Wth 3.4m; H 0.3m) with a doorway (Wth 0.6m) at E are visible in the interior of a ringfort (WM009-026---). • WM009-027 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  Situated on a slight natural rise in gently undulating grassland. Ringfort (WM009-026---) 140m to NW. Present remains consist of a poorly preserved D-shaped area (approx. diam. 26m N-S; 20m E-W) enclosed by an earthen bank. The perimeter of the site has been destroyed by quarrying from ENE-S-WSW. On the E & N sides the perimeter of the monument is intersected by field fences. In the S quadrant is a circular steep-sided depression with a long depression extending N from its N side which may represent the remains of a souterrain although this is not certain. At the centre of the site are the remains of a conjoined hut site (WM009-027001-), visible as a rectangular and a circular hollow. The circular hollow (diam. 3.2m; D 0.7m) is centrally located, with the adjoining rectangular hollow (diam. 1.8m NE-SW; 1.5m NW-SE; D 0.8m) on its NW side.   Description

  Situated on a slight natural rise in gently undulating grassland. Ringfort (WM009-026---) 140m to NW. Possible conjoined hut sites visible as a rectangular and a circular hollow in the centre of a ringfort (WM009-027----). The circular hollow (diam. 3.2m; D 0.7m) is centrally located, with the adjoining rectangular hollow (diam. 1.8m NE-SW; 1.5m NW-SE; D 0.8m) on its NW side. In the S quadrant there is a circular steep-sided depression with a long depression extending N from its N side which may represent the remains of a souterrain although this is not certain.   Situated on top of a prominent steep hill. A sub-circular shaped area (approx. diam. 24m NW-SE; 16m NE-SW) enclosed by an earthen bank only visible from S-W, elsewhere the perimeter is formed by field fences. In the centre of the fort there is a sub-circular shaped hut site (WM009-028001-) with entrance gaps at NW & SE. Attached to the hut is semi-circular platform forming an annexe.
