  Description

  This is depicted faintly as a rectangular area (dims. c. 45m NW-SE; c. 35m NE-SW) and described as ‘Site of fort’ on the 1839 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. It is situated on a SE-facing slope of the foothills of the Blackstairs Mountains. No feature is visible at ground level in pasture.   Description

  Depicted as an oval bivallate enclosure (int. dims. c. 45m NW-SE; c. 30m NE-SW; ext. dims. c. 80m NW-SE; c. 60m NE-SW) on the 1839 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. It is located on a SE-facing slope of the foothills of the Blackstairs Mountains and it is visible on the ground as an oval sunken area (dims. 43m NE-SW; 36m NW-SE) with a segment of a field bank curving around it at NW. It is partly visible as a vegeatation mark on Google Earth (2011). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996).   Description

  Marked as a sub-triangular embanked area (ext. dims. c. 100m NE-SW; c. 70m NW-SE at SW end) on the 1839 ed. of the OS 6-incgh map with the SW end incorporated into the townland boundary with Grange Upper. It is located on a gentle S-facing slope in the foothills of the Blackstairs Mountains. It ws described in the 1950s as an oval or sub-triangular enclosure (dims 75m NE-SW; 45m NW-SE) defined by earthen bank (SMR file). It may have been simply a field, and has been removed since 1955.
