Description
On a gentle W-facing slope with extensive views to the W and S. Oval area (max. ext. dims. c. 45m E-W; 40m N-S) defined by a substantial flat-bottomed external ditch (Wth 5m; D. 2m) with traces of an earthen bank. Description
In rough grazing, on a gentle W-facing slope. There are a number of earthfast boulders in the field immediately E of adjacent ringfort (ME015-012---), one of which has a bullaun. This flat-topped granite boulder (dims. H 0.35m; 0.9m x 0.73m) has a circular basin (diam. 0.16m; D 0.11m) with straight sides and a flat base. Description
Situated on a marked W-facing slope. Circular enclosure (diam. 24m) defined by a very degraded earthen bank (Wth 4m; max. H 1m). There is no indication of an entrance, external fosse or internal features other than a later field boundary which crosses the centre of the site (N-S). Two smaller circles abut the enclosure at the E (diam. 9m) and SW (diam. 10m). These are defined by very slight banks. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). Description
Set into a marked slope on the W edge of the summit of Scalp mountain with extensive views NW-S. Circular cairn (diam. 22m; H 1-2.5m) the upper levels of which are considerably denuded. Two large displaced slabs, one in the centre and the other on the W edge, may be roofstones or structural stones. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). - WI015-090 Enclosure
Description
In rough pasture, on an ESE-facing slope on the lower reaches of Slievecorragh. A circular area (diam. 23m) defined along the W by an earthen bank (Wth 2.3m; int. H 0.7m; ext. H 0.9m) and an outer U-shaped fosse (Wth 1m; D 0.6m). The bank has been reduced to a scarp edge (H 0.8m) along the E and S with faint traces of an outer fosse.
