- Saint Saviour's Church (Arklow), church/chapel, 1895–1900 · Regional interest
Description
Detached multiple-bay single-storey Early English Gothic Style church, built 1899 to designs by Sir Arthur Bloomfield. The church is constructed in coursed rock-faced granite with smooth granite dressings. The church was designed complete with nave chancel, side aisles, porches and vestry projections, all of which combine to give a rectangular shaped plan. The double timber sheeted front door with decorative strap hinges is framed with pilasters and is set within a projecting-arch opening. The three-stage tower and spire are decorated in similar style to the church and is complete with gablets, pinnacles, lucarnes and reducing buttresses. The nave has five bays with clerestory geometric tracery windows while the side aisles each have five paired lancet windows. Almost hidden behind castellated parapets is a pitched lead lined roof with similar lean-to roofs to the side aisles.Internally the church is in completely original condition. Altar rails, altar with carved stone reredos, Jacobean style pulpit and baptismal font with tall Gothic canopy are all in original condition and are all are minor works of art in their own right. Figurative leaded glass depicting various biblical scenes is featured in many windows.

Description
Terraced three-bay two-storey former pair of vernacular houses, built in c.1830, now in use a single dwelling. The houses were amalgamated in c.1900. The external walls are finished with lined render. The front panelled door is set within a flat-headed opening. Window openings are all flat-headed with two over two timber sash frames and have painted stone sills. The pitched roof is covered with artificial slate and has cast-iron rainwater goods; the replacement chimneystack has a plain concrete cope and a single clay pot. The building is road fronted within a busy narrow side street.

Description
Detached three-bay two-storey former house, built c.1860, now in use as a bed and breakfast. It is finished in unpainted lined render with granite quoins. Either side of the door is a single-storey canted bay which was linked c.1950 with a lean-to roof; the link is formed into a glazed porch. Window openings are flat-headed and frames are three over three timber sash. The pitched roof is finished with slate with cast-iron rainwater goods which are supported on corbelled granite brackets; serrated clay ridge tiles and chimneystacks in brick with corbelled caps. The house is set slightly back from cast-iron railings.
