  Description

  On NW-facing slope, on N side Eagle Hill, towards W end Beara peninsula; incorporated into remains field fence. Diminutive chamber (L 1.5m; Wth c. 0.8m) open to W; each side represented by a single sidestone; inset backstone at E end; covered by single roofstone. Chamber decreases in height W to E; stone inside W end of S side may represent some form of entrance feature. Two outer-wall stones to N of chamber. No indications of surrounding mound.   Description

  In rough pasture, on cutaway bog, in the saddle to E of Eagle Hill. Turf-cutting has exposed the remains of collapsed, relict, stone field boundaries (T 0.6m; H 0.3m) that are set on the underlying mineral soil. The mainly curvilinear relict walls run intermittently in a general NW-SE direction across the saddle for c. 160m. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.   Description

  In rough grazing land, at the base of outcropping rock, on the steep W-facing slopes of Maulin Mountain. The most westerly of a pair of two holy wells (see CO115-102002-) c. 50m apart and known locally as 'St John's wells'. A roughly rectangular well (0.65m E-W; 0.4m N-S) enclosed at N and S by an upright stone slab, at E by the base of the outcropping rock and at W by a rough stone. It contains water to a depth of 0.35m. A large white cross is painted on the rock above the well. According to local information, rounds were formerly made here on 22 and 23 June (St John's Eve and St John's Day) and the water was said to cure eye ailments.
