• DU024-005002 Megalithic tomb - passage tomb
  Description

  Located on the N-facing slope of Saggart Hill at a point known as Knockaniller. This large kerbed cairn lies immediately to the S of another passage tomb (DU024-005001-). It is circular in form and round-topped (diam. c. 40m; H c. 5m). Now partly fern-covered with deep machine tracks running across the top. • DU024-005003 Barrow - ring-barrow
  Description

  Located on the N-facing slope of Saggart Hill at a point known as Knockaniller. Shown on the 1843 OS 6-inch map as a circular enclosure. This site lay to the SW of the passage tombs at Knockaniller (DU024-005001-, DU024-005002-). Kilbride-Jones (ITA Survey 1939) described it as a raised, perfectly flat-topped, circular platform, surrounded by a circular fosse which was uninterrupted (diam.28m; H 0.95m). The area has been planted with trees leaving no visible trace at ground level. (Healy 1975, 1-19). • DU024-034 Megalithic tomb - passage tomb
  Description

  The site is located in a clearing in Slievethoul Woods on the summit of Saggart Hill. A passage tomb comprises of a large circular, round-topped, chambered cairn (diam.22m; H 2.75m). There is a central hollow where cairn material has been robbed. The chamber extends E-W. There are four orthostats in position. The site is too overgrown to identify kerbstones but Herity (1974, 256) describes a single granite boulder visible near the base at N edge of a cairn (Healy 1975, 1-19).   Description

  Situate in a clearing on Saggart Hill. A passage tomb comprises of a flat-topped cairn (diam.24m; H 1m). It may be the denuded remains of a passage grave and lies c. 300m ESE of passage tomb (DU024-034----).
