Description
On a knoll is gently undulating grassland. A circular three-storey windmill (D c. 3.7m, H 7.9m), in dangerous structural condition, with a slight base-batter. It has totally collapsed from W to N. The doorway is at S with rectangular windows above it on 1st and 2nd floors. Traces of windows also survive on the upper floors at NE. Description
Detached convent, built c.1910, comprising two-storey entrance block having five-bay first floor and three-bay ground floor, latter having single-storey canted-bay windows to front flanking gabled shallow entrance breakfront. Deeper gabled respond to breakfront in rear having four bays and sprocketed roof. Three flat-roofed blocks to rear of entrance block. Three-bay chapel attached to east end projects forward slightly. Multiple-bay two-storey block at right angles to rear of entrance block and chapel. Sprocketed pitched slate roofs, chapel projection being under sprocketing of main roof. Brick chimneystacks, rendered at base, and with render cross finial to gable of chapel and metal cross finial to breakfront. Rendered façade to entrance block, having limestone sill course to first floor, and tile cladding to upper part of west gable. Square-headed four-over-four pane windows to first floor, and replacement uPVC to ground floor. Entrance doorway comprises square-headed door opening and sidelights having moulded cornice and with blank round-headed fanlight above, with replacement uPVC fittings. Retaining arch of rusticated stone to first floor window of west gable of entrance block. Chapel has round-headed lancet windows and three-light east window.

Description
Freestanding gable-fronted cruciform-plan ashlar limestone-built Gothic-Revival Roman Catholic church, dated 1865, having three-bay long elevations to nave, single-bay transepts and chancel, and shallow sanctuary. Steeply pitched slate roof with stone copings, kneelers having gabled ends and trefoil finials atop corbels, bellcote to west gable, and cross finials to gables. Walls of rusticated ashlar stone, with buttresses flanking entrance doorway in west gable and incorporating holy water stoups. Diagonal buttresses to corners of chancel and sanctuary. Pointed arch window openings throughout, double-light to nave, transepts and to side walls of chancel, triple-light to east wall of chancel flanking sanctuary and east window of sanctuary being five-light with tracery and hexafoil light above. All windows have cut limestone surrounds and trefoil-headed lights with stained glass. Rusticated voussoirs to all openings, east window also having hood-moulding with simple block stops. Triple-light window to gable-front with elaborate tracery and set within pointed arch recess having ashlar surround to opening proper. Pointed arch doorway with carved stone surround and hood-moulding, and double-leaf timber battened door with step. Interior has very fine vaulted timber roof structure, with elaborate marble reredos, marble altar and side altars, and round-plan piers to transepts supporting pointed arches. Octagonal-plan gate piers having plinths, moulded string courses and caps and supporting double-leaf cast-iron vehicular gate, set within ashlar limestone walls having chamfered copings rising towards gateway and stretch of walling each side is terminated by similar octagonal piers, in turn flanked by stretches of walling terminating in simpler octagonal-plan piers.

Description
Corner-sited end of row five-bay single-storey public house, built c.1800, having pitched and flat-roofed additions to rear. Pitched thatched roof with rendered copings to gables, and low rendered chimneystacks. Whitewashed rendered walls. Square-headed openings with replacement timber windows and timber battened door and glazed timber door, former with plain overlight.

Description
Corner-sited end of terrace two-storey bank, built c.1900, now in use as offices and presenting seven bays to main elevation and two bays to side street, with chamfered one-bay corner. Pitched slate roof, hipped to short elevation, and having rendered chimneystacks and cast-iron rainwater goods. Rendered walls to first floor and channelled render to ground floor, with continuous fascia, top edge being sill course to first floor windows and bottom edge being string course linking to keeystones of ground floor window openings. Round-headed windows to ground floor set within round-headed recesses reaching to ground, and square-headed window openings to first floor, all having one-over-one pane timber sliding sash windows. Round-headed doorway to corner set within round-headed render surround comprising pilasters with brackets and cornices supporting round-headed pediment. Two further round-headed doorways to long elevation set into round-headed recess, with timber panelled doors, that to corner approached by flight of limestone steps.
