  Description

  In pasture, on a NE-facing slope. A circular area (36m NE-SW; 34m NW-SE) defined by an earth and stone bank (Wth 2.3m; int. H 1.4m; ext. H 0.7m) E-NW and by a scarp (ext. H 1.5m) with an external lip (int. H 0.35m) NW-E. Trees grow along the bank. The SW half of the interior is level while the NE half slopes downwards. This may be the rath mentioned in the 1940s as being 'situated at Rathcommane' (Schools Manuscript, Co. Kerry). • KE058-056 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  In pasture, on a flat area of a N-facing slope, c. 40m N of the Rathcomane-Dromdoon Beg road. This possible rath is not visible at ground level but, according to the landowner, in the summer a circle of buttercups marks its location. It is indicated as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 40m) on the 1846 OS 6-inch map and as a subcircular enclosure (diam. c. 30m), open NE-E and defined by a single line, on the 1894 OS 6-inch map.   Description

  In pasture, on a plateau. A circular area (c. 39m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 3.5m; int. H 1.6m; ext. H 1.8m) SSE-ESE and by a scarp ESE-SSE. The level interior, which is overgrown in places, is raised slightly in the SE sector. There is a possible entrance at WSW and a cattle gap at NW. The bank is disturbed along the W and S arcs.   Description

  In a rath (KE058-057----). According to the landowner, a large stone at the centre of the rath reputedly covers a souterrain. There are no visible remains of this possible souterrain. • KE058-148 Kiln - lime
  Description

  In pasture, built into a NE-facing slope. The front wall (H 3.4m; Wth 3.6m) faces ESE. The central arched recess (H 1.65m; Wth 2m) is partly infilled. The overall plan is trapezoidal, being 3.6m wide at the front, 5m wide at the rear and 10m in length. An area in front of the kiln has been recently levelled, revealing large quantities of burnt material. An enclosure (KE058-032----) is c. 40m to the WNW.
