  Description

  In undulating pasture. Oval area (22m N-S; 9m E-W) defined by scarped edge (H 2m; Wth 15m) sharpest to SW->NNW but more gradual elsewhere.   Description

  In undulating pasture, on summit of low hillock, c. 150m from S shore of Shannon estuary. Circular area (28m N-S; 28.5m E-W) defined by scarped edge (H 2.9m; Wth 10m). Scarped edge less pronounced on N side where lower end truncated by field boundary. Site utilised sides of hillock to enhance its own edge. Interior level except for raised circular area in NW quadrant defined by scarped edge (H 0.4m); edge of latter overlies edge of enclosure W->N. • LI017-006 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  In pasture, on N-facing slope. Monument, depicted as embanked circular enclosure on 1841 OS 6-inch map, has been levelled. However, it is still apparent as roughly circular area (21m N-S; 25m E-W) defined by very gradual scarped edge (H 1.6m; Wth 14m), except SSW->WSW where scarp removed by small quarry (6m x 4m); lower end of scarp truncated SE->SW by field boundary. Slight bank evident atop scarp SSE->SSW (Wth c. 6.5m; H c. 0.35m). Interior is level and entire site under pasture. Compiled by: Denis Power Date of upload: 26 August 2011
