  Earthwork described in 1942-3 as following; 'This is a high circular mound surrounded by a deep wide fosse. The top of the mound slopes off to the south-east side. There is no bank on its edge or outside it. Its maximum height over the fosse-bottom is 11' [3.3m] and the overall diameter is 211' [64m]. Situated in good low-land' (O'Kelly 1942-3, 239).   Description

  In improved, wet pasture, cut by land drains and watercourses, 110m E of a main watercourse, which also marks a townland boundary with Castlefarm. Moated site (LI032-280002-) conjoined to SE. Not depicted on OSi historic maps. Monument identified by the Bruff aerial photographic survey in 1986 (Bruff 272.1: AP 5/2047) as a large rectangular-shaped earthwork with a slightly smaller rectangular-shaped earthwork [LI032-280002-] conjoined to SE. Upstanding monument is clearly visible as a rectangular-shaped area (50m NW-SE; 48m NE-SW) defined by a fosse, as seen on OSi orthoimage taken 2005-2012, on Digital Globe orthoimage taken 2011-2013 and on Google Earth orthoimage taken 25/03/2017. The second moated site (LI032-208002-) is clearly visible conjoined to SE.   In improved wet pasture, cut by land drains and watercourses, 200m W of a townland boundary with Oldtown. Ringfort (LI032-156----) lies 12m to N. Monument is not depicted on OSi historic maps. Monument identified by the Bruff aerial photographic survey in 1986 (Bruff 294: AP5/2046) as a subcircular-shaped earthwork. Upstanding monument is visible as a faint roughly circular-shaped cropmark (diam. 19.5m) defined by a possible fosse, as seen on OSi orthoimage taken 2005-2012 and on Google Earth orthoimage 20/09/2020. • LI033-045 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  Earthwork described in 1942-3 as following; 'This consists of a circular platform on the edge of which there is a slight bank. Outside there is a fosse, but this occurs only where it was necessary to cut through little hillocks in the field, so that it appears only on the N.W., N.E. and S.E. sides. The edge and sides of the platform have been broken down in three places. The largest of these breaks is on the N.E. side, and this may have been the entrance. There is no fosse just opposite it. The greatest height of the bank over the field is 6' [1.8m] and the overall diameter is 125' [38m]. Situated in wet lowland' (O'Kelly 1942-3, 239).   Description

  In improved pasture 180m W of a road that marks the townland boundary with Garryncahera. Not depicted on historic OSi maps. Monument is visible as a roughly circular-shaped area defined by trees from SW-N-SE on aerial photograph (ASIAP (332) 26, 27) taken 05/10/2002. Visible as a circular-shaped area (diam. c. 19m) defined by trees from SW-N-SE with a circular-shaped cropmark (diam. c. 6m) in S quadrant of interior on OSi orthophoto taken between 2005-12 and on Google Earth orthoimage dated 20/09/2020. Circular-shaped cropmark in S quadrant could be the remains of a hut site. Uncertain about antiquity of earthwork could be a tree-ring of post-1700 date.
