• LF010-063 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  On a shelf of level ground on a NE-facing slope. A raised almost circular area (35.5m E-W; 34.5m N-S) enclosed from ESE-S-N by a low bank of earth and stone (Wth 3.4-4.8m; H 0.4-0.75m) and defined at NNE and at E by a scarp (H 0.9-1.4m). An external fosse (Wth 4m; D 0.3-0.5m)is evident from SE-S-SW. At NE the enclosing element and a small portion of the interior have been quarried away. The original entrance is not recognisable. • LF010-064 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  In level pasture. A report in 1975 (SMR file) recorded a raised circular area (diam. 38m) enclosed by a low bank of earth and stone. There was no trace of a fosse and the original entrance was not recognisable. The rath was levelled in 1988 (local information) and only the outline of its perimeter, marked by a low scarp (H 0.2-0.8m), is identifiable. From SSW-W-WNW it is skirted by a roadway.   Description

  On a shelf of level ground on a steep NE-facing slope. A raised circular area (diam. c. 25m) enclosed from SW-W-NW by a low bank of earth and stone (Wth 2.5m; H 0.5m) and defined from NNW-N-ESE by a scarp (H 1.6m). Elsewhere it is skirted by an E-W field boundary. A shallow, external fosse (Wth 4.1m; D 0.2m) survives from SW-WSW-W. The original entrance is not recognisable. Compiled by: Patrick F.
