Description
In level pasture. Monument, depicted as embanked penannular enclosure (opening facing E) on 1924 OS 6-inch map, has been levelled and incorporated into pasture field. Now evident as circular area (diam. 32m) defined by scarped edge (H 0.2m; Wth 2m) with external fosse (D 0.1m; Wth 3m). Level interior under pasture. Description
In level pasture. Area now fence off and the well itself is being used by County Council as part of local water supply. Known locally as "The White Well" but no memory of it being in holy use. Described by Ó Danachair (1955, 211) as 'a strong clear spring about nine feet in diameter'; he notes 'no devotions' here because 'the well moved when clothes were washed there' (ibid.). Description
In level pasture. Site is depicted on 1924 OS 6-inch map as circular enclosure (diam. c. 35m) bisected by watercourse on N-S axis. Site now evident only on E side of deep watercourse (Wth c. 6m): semicircular area (14m E-W; 30m N-S) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.4m; ext. H 0.5m) with external fosse (D 0.25m; Wth 1.2m). Gap in bank (Wth 2.8m) at E. North end of semicircular area under rough pasture, but S end largely obscured by overgrowth. Compiled by: Denis Power Date of upload: 26 August 2011
