Description
In rough, wet, water-shaped pasture, 55m E of a townland boundary with Tonteere and 90m S of a watercourse. Ring-barrows (LI023-325/326----) lie 10m to NE and 25m to ENE, respectively. Not depicted on OSi historic maps. Identified as a circular-shaped cropmark by the Bruff aerial photographic survey in 1986 (Bruff 23401: AP 4/3664). Monument is visible as a circular-shaped earthwork (diam. 12m) on OSi aerial orthoimage taken 2005-2012, although is not visible on Google Earth orthoimage taken 28/06/2018. Description
On low-lying, improved wet pasture, cut by land drains and watercourses. A watercourse lies 35m to E. Ring-barrow (LI023-275----) lies 220m to SE. Not depicted on OSi historic maps. Identified as a circular-shaped cropmark by the Bruff aerial photographic survey in 1986 (Bruff 155: AP 4/3663). Monument is clearly visible as a roughly circular-shaped cropmark (diam. 32m) on OSi orthoimages taken 2005-2012 and is visible as a faint circular-shaped cropmark on Digital Globe orthoimage taken 2011-2013 and on Google Earth orthoimage taken 28/06/2018. Description
In low-lying, wet ground, cut by land drains and watercourses and which has been planted with forestry. Not depicted on OSi historic maps. Identified as a standing stone by Rose M. Cleary of the Archaeology Department, UCC. Remains consist of a low, upright pillar stone with a narrow rectangular-shaped elevation, in rough pasture, prior to planting of forestry. Monument is not visible on OSi orthoimage taken 2005-2012, on Digital Globe orthophoto taken 2011-2013 or on Google Earth orthoimage taken 28/06/2018, where area of standing stone is enclosed within a forestry exclusion zone.
