  In reclaimed pasture immediately N of a field boundary running NW-SE and 110m SW of the townland boundary with Knockderk. Depicted on OSi 25-inch map as a horseshoe-shaped area (dims. 18m NE-SW, 15m NW-SE) enclosed by a bank from E-S-W-N and open at NE. Not depicted on 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map. Surveyed by the ASI in 2007 and described as no surface remains visible. Not visible on OSi orthophotos taken 2005-2012 or on Google Earth orthoimages dated 18/11/2018 or 20/09/2020.   Description

  In reclaimed pasture 160m N of the townland boundary with Killeenagallive. Depicted on OSi 25-inch map as a sub-circular-shaped platform (dims. 32m NE-SW, 34m NW-SE) defined by a scarp and ditch from SE-S-NE, truncated at NE by a post-1700 field boundary running NW-SE. Depicted as circular-shaped earthwork on 1838 ed. OSi 6-inch map . Surveyed by the ASI in 2007 and described as a circular-shaped area (diam. 22m) defined by a scarp (Wth 2.2m; H 0.7m) with external fosse (Wth 6.8m; D 0.5m) best preserved from ESE-WSW. A deep drainage ditch intersects the E side of the monument. Surrounding land drains are visible on OSi orthophotos 2005-2012.   Description

  In reclaimed pasture 40m N of a stream with boundary of Knockderk townland 65m to E. Depicted on OSi 25-inch map as a circular-shaped area (diam. 22m) enclosed by a bank with external ditch only indicated from N-E-SE. Surveyed by the ASI in 2007 and described as a circular-shaped area (diam. 22m) defined by a low eroded bank (Wth 4.4m; int. H 0.7m; ext. H 0.7m) with external fosse (Wth 6.2m; D 0.2m) and outer bank (Wth 4.7m; int. H 0.35m; ext. H 0.15m) only visible from NW-ESE and from S-SW. A raised oval-shaped area (dims. 6m NW-SE, 5m NE-SW) is visible slightly off centre to E, could be the remains of a possible hut site. A break (Wth 12m) in the bank and fosse at W appears to be a modern feature. Drainage ditches 16.6m W and 10m E of monument. Clearly visible as a circular-shaped area enclosed by a bank on OSi orthophotos 2005-2012 and on Google Earth orthoimage dated 28/06/2018.   Description

  In improved pasture immediately W of a watercourse that marks the townland boundary with Knockderk. Not depicted on historic OSi maps. Identified by Bruff aerial photographic survey in 1986 (Bruff 62; AP 4/3616) as a possible field system. Faint pattern of linear cropmarks, some perpendicular to each other, covering an area c. 220m N-S x 250m E-W visible on OSi orthophotos taken between 2005-2012 and on Google Earth orthoimage dated 18/11/2018. Cropmarks may be the remains of drainage ditches rather than that of a field system as they do not appear to form a clear pattern of fields containing cultivation ridges.   Description

  In reclaimed pasture 25m W of the townland boundary with Knockderk. Possible barrow (LI033-169----) lies 60m to W. Not depicted on OSi historic 6-inch maps. Surveyed by the ASI in 2007 and described as a raised rectangular-shaped area (dims. 15.3m NW-SE, 6.5m NE-SW) enclosed by a steep bank (Wth. 13.7m; Int. H 1.05m; ext. H 2m) at NW reduced to a steep scarp elsewhere. Visible as raised rectangular-shaped area on OSi orthophotos taken 2005-12 and on Google Earth orthoimages dated 18/11/2018. A narrow local road to the immediate E runs NE-SW giving access to a limekiln and quarry annotated Carrigeenanoosh on OSi historic maps. Doubtful antiquity. See attached Google Earth orthoimages.
