Description
In a conifer plantation on S-facing slope, 47m N of townland boundary with Glendarragh, an enclosure (LI035-014----) lies 385m to SE. Depicted on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map as circular shaped area enclosed by a bank, intersected from SE-S by a laneway running NE-SW. Shown on the 1897 ed. Osi 25-inch map as a horseshoe-shaped area (dims. c. 14m N-S; 9m E-W) enclosed by a bank open at SE. The site was inaccessible when visited by the ASI in 1997. Area overgrown with scrub vegetation on OSi orthophotograph taken between 2005-12 and on Google Earth orthoimage. See attached Google Earth orthoimages. In level marshy pasture. Circular area (48.8m N-S; 46.4m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.5m; ext. H 1.7m) with external fosse (D 0.6m; Wth 2.7m). Entrance (Wth 3.8m) through bank at SW. In level pasture. Circular area (32.5m N-S; 32.6m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.35m; ext. H 1.3m) with an external fosse (D 0.2m; Wth 3.2m). Causeway entrance (Wth 5.3m) at WNW. Gap (Wth 2.3m) in bank at E used by cattle accessing interior. Field boundaries, which abutted enclosure at SE, SW and W have been removed. Interior level and under pasture. Description
Single-arch railway bridge, built c. 1880. Having round-headed arch with rusticated limestone voussoirs and dressed rubble stone soffits springing from rusticated limestone piers. Snecked rusticated limestone spandrels surmounted by low rusticated limestone parapet wall with rusticated limestone cornice and capping to sides (east, west). Splayed snecked rusticated limestone abutments projecting from side (east, west) elevations having rusticated limestone coping with chamfered corners. Bridge forms part of the Limerick to Tralee Railway line which now forms part of the Southern Trail.

Description
Triple-span cast-iron girder viaduct, built c. 1880, comprising cross-braced girder construction springing from tapered cross-braced cast-iron piers with support trusses mounted on rusticated limestone plinths. Snecked battered rusticated limestone abutments to sides (north, south) having piers with rusticated limestone coping and stringcourses. Angle-iron beams forming railing flanking girders with recent galvanised mesh panels. Cast-iron tie beam linking girders beneath recent galvanised mesh panels forming deck, c. 2009.
