Trees grow along top of bank. Entrance (Wth 3.45m) at N has been recently widened and a causeway constructed across fosse; immediately outside entrance is gravelled yard.   In pasture, on NE-facing slope of a low rise. Circular area (20m N-S; 20.65m E-W) defined by a scarped edge (H 0.85m; Wth 1.25m) with an external fosse (D 0.55m; Wth 2.05m); fosse is covered by dense overgrowth. Field boundary runs along outer line of fosse W->NNW and along centre line of fosse N->NE. A farm trackway runs across site in a N-S direction from N to SSW.   In level pasture. Rectangular area (32m N-S; 31m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.45m; ext. H 0.95m) with external fosse (Wth 2.7m; D 0.7m). Enclosing element on S side part of surrounding field boundary system and breached at centre by recent gateway (Wth c. 4m).   Description

  Detached four-bay single-storey thatched vernacular former farmhouse, built c. 1750, having later porch to front (north). Now in use as house. Hipped thatched roof with gable to side (west) elevation, having rendered parapet wall and chimneystack. Rendered roof to porch. Rendered mud and rubble stone walls. Rendered walls to porch. Square-headed window openings having rendered sills and timber casement windows. Square-headed door opening having timber panelled door to front elevation. Rendered enclosing walls with square-profile gate piers supporting double-leaf wrought-iron gates to front and side (east).
