  Description

  Marked as a circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 50m) bisected by a NNE-SSW road on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated on the SW-facing slope of a NE-SW ridge. D-shaped grass-covered area (dims. 27m NE-SW; 11m NW-SE) defined by a scarp (H 0.2-1m) NE-E-SW which is truncated by a NE-SW road at NW. • RO011-043 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  On a low-lying, level landscape. D-shaped grass-covered but poached area (dims 25m NW-SE; 16.8m NE-SW) defined by an earthen bank planted with mature deciduous trees (Wth 3.5m at ENE to 4.8m at SW; int. H 0.3-0.7m; ext. H 0.9-1m) S-W-ENE and a scarp (H 0.45-0.65m) elsewhere. There is no visible fosse or entrance, but an E-W field bank truncates the perimeter slightly at N. • RO011-162001 Mill - unclassified
  Description

  On level ground with rock outcrop on the NW bank of the SW-NE Killukin river. A mill-race (L c. 100m) visible as a silted drain (Wth of base 1.8m; ext. D 0.2-0.3m; int. D 0.7-1m) runs E-W c. 30m from the stream with an upcast bank (Wth c. 3m; int. H 0.1-0.2m) on its S side. It originates at two points on the stream and returns to it just above the waterfalls. The grass-covered foundations of a mill are visible as a platform (dims 10m N-S; 8.7m E-W) defined by scarps (H 0.1-0.3m) on the S bank of the mill-race, just E of a pond (dims c. 10m x c. 10m). • RO011-162002 Field system
  Description

  On level ground with rock outcrop NW of the SW-NE Killukin river. An area of c. 10 ha contains rectangular fields (dims 20m x c. 30m to c. 100m x c. 50m) defined by earthen banks (Wth c. 2- 3m; H 0.2-0.4m). • RO011-163 Enclosure - large enclosure
  Description

  On a shelf overlooking the SW-NE KIllukin stream on the S bank, just above the waterfalls and on the opposite bank from the field system (RO011-162002-) and mill (RO011-162001-). Subcircular grass-covered area (dims 71m N-S; 63.5m E-W) defined by an earth and stone bank (Wth 3.2m at S to 5.6-6.5m generally; int. H 0.2-0.5m; ext. H 0.1m at S to 0.8m at N). There is no visible fosse, and the entrance (Wth 3m) is at NE. A NE-SW farm track overlies the site at SE, breaching the perimeter at ESE and S, and there are some quarries and outcropping rock in the interior. Rath (RO011-073----) is c. 190m to the SE.
