  Description

  Marked as a small island (diam. c. 5m) on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated on the E shore of the now partially drained Black Lough (diam. c. 70m; original diam. c. 180m-200m).   Description

  On a gentle N-facing slope of a SE-NW spur. Subcircular grass-covered but poached area (dims 24.4m N-S; 21.8m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 2.8m at E to 3.6m at S; int. H 0.2m; ext. H 0.8m at E to 1.3m at W) and hedge, with an outer fosse which has been re-cut as a drain (Wth of base 0.9m at E to 1.6m at S; D 0.2m at W to 0.8m at E). There is no visible entrance. • RO017-100 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  Just off the crest on the gentle S-facing slope of a drumlin. Subcircular grass-covered area (dims 50m N-S; 44m E-W) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (at E: Wth 3.3m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 0.9m) NNE-SE, which is reduced to an overgrown scarp (H 1m) elsewhere and overlain by a later field wall NW-NNE. There is a complete outer fosse (Wth of top 4.6m; Wth of base 1.5m; D 0.3-0.5m), which has been extended into a pond (Wth 5.5m) S-WNW, but there is no visible entrance.   Description

  On the crest at the E end of a low NW-SE drumlin ridge. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 34m N-S; 32m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 4.3m at W to 5.6m at E; int. H 0.6m at W to 0.9m at N; ext. H 1.5m) and hedge ESE-W-ENE, with outer facing stones at W, which is reduced to an overgrown scarp (H 1.6m) ENE-ESE. There is an outer fosse (Wth of top 4.4-5.4m; Wth of base 1.6m at S to 2.4m at E; D 0.3m at S to 1.3m at W), the outer lip of which is hedged as a field boundary S-W-N.   Description

  On a gentle E-facing slope of a drumlin. Circular overgrown area (diam. 38m E-W; 36m N-S) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (at E: Wth 3.7m; int. H 0.9m; ext. H 1.8m) and outer fosse (at E: Wth of top 3.6m; Wth of base 1m; D 0.6m) NE-S-SW, and by a scarp (H 0.9m) down to the interior elsewhere. A NE-SW field bank overlies the interior W of the centre.   Description

  On a gentle SE-facing slope. Oval area used as a garden (dims 40m NNE-SSW; 32m WNW-ESE) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (at NNE: Wth 3.6m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 1.8m; at ESE: Wth 4.2m; int. H 1m; ext. H 1.8m) and an outer fosse (Wth of top 5.3m; Wth of base 2.9m; D 0.3-0.7m) WNW-N-ESE, and by a scarp (H 0.3m at WNW to 1.6m at SSW) elsewhere. The entrance (Wth 2.8m) and denuded causeway (Wth 3m) are at ESE and there are inner facing stones on the bank at NE (L 1.4m). Field banks and drains radiate off the perimeter at ESE, SE and SW, and the fosse is re-cut as a field drain SE-SW. Rath (RO017-102----) is c. 120m to the SW.   Description

  On a gentle W-facing slope at the NE edge of a disused quarry. An upright stone (dims 1.5m x 0.3m; H 0.6-1.4m) is oriented WNW-ESE, and a prone stone (dims 1.4m x 1-1.4m) are placed 4m apart and form a NW-SE alignment.
