• CL008-064 Barrow - ring-barrow
  Description

  On undulating ground in pasture, with boggy land to the N and S and wide views especially W-N. Hachured on the 1842 and 1920 eds. of the OS 6-inch map. This circular ring-barrow (diam. 20.5m) is defined by a shallow fosse (av. Wth 2m) and an outer bank (Wth 3.7m; int. H 0.35-0.75m; ext. H 0.2-0.95m), the inner face of which has eroded away at the SE. The central mound (diam. 9.5m; H over fosse 0.45-0.6m) is dome-shaped, with a shallow depression in the middle. There is another ring-barrow (CL008-065----) c. 88m to the NE. • CL008-065 Barrow - ring-barrow
  Description

  In undulating pastureland with wide views, marshy ground to the NE and a hillock to the SSE. Hachured on the 1842 and 1920 eds. of the OS 6-inch map. This subcircular ring-barrow (20.5m NE-SW; 18.7m NW-SE) is defined by a flat-based fosse (Wth 1.4-2.7m) and outer bank (Wth 3.3-4.2m; int. H 0.25; av. ext. H 0.25m). Several low limestone uprights are visible at the S part of the bank. At the NE and E field-clearance rubble is piled on the bank and the NE half is overgrown. At the NNW a small amount of bank material has been removed. The very low central mound (diam. 9.5m; H over fosse 0.15-0.2m) is quite level, but undulates at the NE. • CL008-089 Barrow - unclassified
  Description

  On a N-facing pasture slope at the edge of an escarpment with steeply sloping ground immediately to the N. Hachured on the Cassini edition (1920) of the OS 6-inch map. A sub-circular mound (basal diams. 13m NW-SE; 12.5m NE-SW; surface diams. 6.5m NW-SE; 5.8m NE-SW; H 0.9-2.05m) is surrounded by a shallow fosse (Wth 2-3m; max. D 0.1m). There are two shallow depressions (max. D 0.1m) in the gently SW-sloping surface of the mound and the mound appears to be composed primarily of earth but with some stone visible.
