  Description

  In pasture, atop hillock. Depicted on 1842 OS 6-inch map as hachured roughly circular area (diam. c. 50m), open to W, with hachured arms extending outward joining enclosure to roadside fence c. 30m to W; as hachured circular raised area (diam. c. 30m) on 1905 and 1937 OS 6-inch maps. Slightly oval-shaped raised area (29m E-W; 27m N-S) defined by scarp (H 1.2m) ESE->NE; earthen bank (int. H 0.4m; ext. H 1.6m) elsewhere. Low bank (int. H 0.3m; ext. H 0.9m) outside scarp on W side. Interior grass covered; once planted with trees, some of which survive; shallow depression (diam. 1m) in NE quadrant.   Description

  In pasture, atop hillock. Graveyard approached from road c. 300m to W, with causeway over marshy area and cut-stone stile in field boundary; however, Grove White (1905-25, vol. 2, 16) was informed locally that old road led to church from Doneraile-Mallow road to S; S part of this road shown on 1842 OS 6-inch map. Roughly circular graveyard (c. 42m WSW-ENE; c. 35m NNW-SSE) enclosed by stone wall (H c. 0.9m) with gateway entrance (Wth 1.6m) to W (see photograph ibid., opp. 6); internal fosse (D 0.7m) to N. Rectangular walled extension in NW corner accommodates grave plot of Patrick Piggot (1925AD). Ruin of C of I parish church of Caherduggan (14711) off-centre to N; site of earlier church (14408) also here. Earliest headstone noted dated 1781; two low uninscribed gravemarkers lie N of church.   Description

  In graveyard (14563). Fragmentary remains of former C of I parish church of Caherduggan. Rectangular church (19.85m E-W; 9.95m N-S), built of random-rubble limestone. All that now stands is NW corner (H 3.2m), with short returns of W (L 4.4m) and N (L 4.1m) walls. South wall survives as line of rubble with some external facing stones. East end occupied by grave plot, dated 1817, enclosed by a low, narrow wall. According to Lewis (1837, vol. 1, 241) built in reign of Charles II (1660-1665), but de-roofed and services discontinued in 1717. Site of earlier church (14408) in graveyard.   Listed as a 'levelled circular enclosure' in the SMR (1988) and as a 'circular enclosure' in the RMP (1998). Shown on 1st ed. O.S. map (1842) as a quarry. Known locally as O'Connell's Quarry.   Description

  Ruined 2-storey house over basement, of early 19th-century appearance. Rendered over random-rubble limestone with brick detail, ashlar limestone quoins. Entrance front (SE) of 3 bays, central wide round-headed door ope, fanlight and sidelights incorporated into frame, plate glass sash windows. Weather-slated view front (NE): 3 bays over basement. SW elevation partially collapsed, has central stairway window over oval window. Rear (NW) partially collapsed, remains of central 1st-floor window and 1-storey additions. Hipped roof with central valley, cornice under eaves. Two-storey L-shaped range of farm buildings to rear.
